I'd never buy a real Type-R. Just isn't worth it for living in constant fear of coming out of a mall, or going to work in the morning and finding it missing.

If you don't have the money to do it right just get it road worthy and don't screw with it. Work on paying stuff off and getting your credit better. Don't just start digging another hole.

I would get the other crap out of the way and clear and once I was done with training and into a position or even active duty I would have a car payment and insurance to handle and that is it. I could do it easily.

The unfortunate thing, especially here in Portland, about owning a real Type R is the fact it will be gone in a week. Hell, a guy I worked with had a 98 Civic DX stolen from his driveway. It'd be fun as hell to drive, and very worth it to own, but you wouldn't get to drive it for too long before you have to go claim a frame with nothing but the dashboard left.

Oooooooh, well, that makes a lot of sense then. Thanks, Hobie. Hondas are just notoriously easy to break into. 94-01 Integras are just really high on the list for theft, regardless of model. There isn't really much that can't be taken off an Integra and put into another honda. My ex had her Prelude broken into and all her stereo equipment stolen in a matter of 15-20 minutes, and the only window they broke to get in was the tiny triangle one behind the driver's side window. I don't know how true this is, but a guy at my local Honda dealership told me one of the salesmen took a 00 Si home one night and woke up the next morning and it wasn't in his driveway.

That's a link of most stolen cars of 2004. In a list of 25, 8 are all the model years of the Integra.

the integras, civics, accords, most older hondas are just easy to steal. if and when you get the Integra, put a Clifford on it ASAP. TRUST ME, ull need it especially if you are thinking about doing any type of work.

but back to you first question....i have an integra on boost right now. love it....i spent almost $4,300 on kit and engine management and tuning. (still need some more fine tuning btw) im happy i went boost. with the integras, you'll be spending way more to go NA to get the power of boost. i had a very tight budget at the time i was boosting the integra (was still in high school) so what i did was piece the turbo kit together myself. i came out with better parts than buying a kit IMO. just if you go the way i did, research, research, research!! check out the best parts for your goals. i am probably going to sell my turbo and get a better one or a ball bearing (and also put a downpayment on an Evo)

Good luck on what you choose and hopefully this helps you decide....lmk if you need anything else. i have been in the honda world for quite some time (maybe not as long as some of the guys that have posted here, but i have had my time)
