1172 rwhp cobra at 27psi..

http://www.modularfords.com/forums/t...wer-53859.html

Only 27psi what will happen if they ever turn it up to 35psi? It was alot more fun when big honking V-8's didn't play with turbos!!

Import guy "Yeah, man I got turbo running 30psi"

Domestic guy "So, do I!"

Import guy "Uh-Oh"

On boost a V8 should theoritically have twice the potenial power output. I think most of the big power evos around would be above 1000whp if they weren't channeling it through AWD though.

Exclamation

In theory yes, but remember 27psi with smallish turbos and 1172rwhp is more than enough to spank 99.99% of the EVO's out there. Don't use the Honda Vtec mentality HP/L doesn't mean a thing.

Another example is Gary Javo's viper it should put down 4000rwhp playing the HP/L game, but I'm sure his 1400rwhp is more than enough to spank ANY evo! Since he has trapped over 169mph I would say it's a fact.

HP/L is fun, but it doesn't win races drag or roadrace.

Corny? Yes, but I like busting ricer bubbles. I see them all the time people who think there Civic with a 60-1 or a the EVO with bolt ons or a 35R is now the domestic destroyer.

For drag racing yes. You can't beat a big engine+turbo+slicks. But I'll invoke my ricer right for the comment on curvy track. hehe.

HP/Weight and gearing are the only things that matter, nobody cares are HP/L.

And yes, anybody with a V8 can slap bolt ons and whoop azz all day, but where's the fun in that? Why not take your econobox and whoop azz all day? WAY more entertaining.

The best thing about larger displacement motors is you can do it on pump gas big big plus. There is nothing like going for Shell 93 and putting down 700rwhp. As opposed to sipping 12$ gallon race fuel.

I love my econobox, but miss my v-8 alot too. If you have never owned moder V-8 with forced induction it's so different than even our powerful EVO's are.

If that's a Dynojet in New Mexico, then it likely had a 1.22-1.25 SAE Correction, so keep that in mind. It really put down 956rwhp. Great power, yes, but the SAE correction at this altitude is for N/A cars only - it does not apply to turbo'd cars, so those were just inflated, unrealistic numbers.
