The R33 seems to get the least attention of the Skylines.... It's kinda weird.

I agree it gets the least attention but that may because the r34 is what really said "hey skyline means business" I personally like the equally.

However as you mention it is odd as r33's are almost easy to get in the USA and licensed and titled. You can get R34's however your looking at $$$$$

Well of course everyone is going to sweat the R34 more than anything... But it seems as if the R32 is more common place than the 33.

It's like people either just have enough money to afford a 32 or plenty enough to afford the 34.

I'll take a R34 GT-R over a R33 any day. I love the body style.

R33s are definitely the hotess. for some reason i can always tell if the skylines were GTRs or GTs, but i can never point out why they look different.

also, from reading NHSTA site and links, starting 2005, the R33s are the only model years that we can import legally(i'm guessing they found out this was the only model year that was used for crash testing) and as for the R34s, R32s that were already imported and registered, they are still legal, just can't be importing anymore of them.

Incorrect... You use to be able to bring over R32's pretty easily. Actaully you could bring over any of them, just depended on how you did it.

The laws on running Skylines on the streets here are changing a lot however. A whole lot of drama went down w/ Motor Ex (is that how you spell it?) and from what I read Skylines are no longer legal at all. The shady practices of them kinda ruined it from what I gather.

i know all skylines used to be easily obtained, through motorex. but as i read, motorex skipped the modifications to the cars to meet safety standards and pocketed the money to do so, later they were caught.

right now, u can see from GNV's NHSTA link, dated January, 2006, scroll down to nissan and the R33 is still listed as a eligiable vehicle to be imported. you just have to pay a registered importer to ship the car here, then pay a registered shop to modify/add safety equipment. i'm talking straight legit car, no loop holes through canada or mexico or joining the military.

Well from Motorex you could just buy them 'out of the box' legal. I was meaning about bringing them over yourself and getting them registered here.

R32's are (well were) very easy if you knew how to do it.

If you read that website everything is updated to 2006, and r33 is onthe allowed list. And from my understanding the final choice for registration and licensing comes down to the state.

Or did i read this improperly?
