I would trade my evo for a low mileage, clean supra in a heartbeat.
Ive always wanted one, but could never find one that had decent miles for a decent price

For me it just made more sense to get a newer car with a full-coverage warranty than to make my Supra dream a reality.

But yeah, when I see one on the road I still crane my neck. They rock.
I agree, but there is nothing like the sound of a Supra with an exhaust. I drove a customers 700hp supra when i worked for Toyota and it was AMAZING!!! So my answer is Supra yes Z06 no... Im personally tired of 2 doors though...

i remember toyota had to pull out the supra and the mr2 from the us market cuz it didnt do too well....would you guys think the cars would have been more of a success today if sold brand new in the US??? well we also have to consider that 38K and 40k were equivalent to about 42-45k back then... its basically buying a g35 coup rite now....

For the money, I would choose a Supra over a G35 coupe or Evo anyday. I know a guy that paid 45k out the door for his Evo 9 MR when it first came out. I could'nt help but snicker.

For what it's worth...I purchased a 95 Supra TT Black, Targa Top, 6-Speed 45K miles for 27K. It came with Basic mods(BC, Exhaust, Intake, Turbo timer), new tires, custom stereo, etc.

Considering a new EVO MR can cost upwards of 35K and a C6 Z06 is at least 65K it was a bargain despite it's age. Toyota Supras are built like granite and very reliable. It's the 6-speeds that command the higher prices and the hardtops even more. You can easily get an Auto TT with low miles in good shape for mid to low 20s or even cheaper. 98s generally command more than previous years, and in my opinion are not cost effective because the Supra changed very little over the years.

It's like any rare car, do your research, bide your time and be ready to pounce on a deal. You can get what you want at the price that you can afford.

well i think it would sell better because the TUNER market is huge and once someone figured out that the SUPRA was a freakin beast they would sell like hotcakes (im not sure what that means but whatever).
i know what you are saying about price but a G35 sucks.

It's getting harder and harder to find good / clean / unmodded Supras these days. I like the Supra a lot, but it's just so easy to get addicted to the way the Evo drives / feels. The steering in the Supra is SO damn sloppy... If you just care about drag racing, the Supra is great. It's extremely reliable for a 10+ year old car too.

The Z06 is expensive but the performance is incredible for the $. I just don't see myself as being a Corvette owner. I certainly don't fit the profile of your typical Vette owner and I don't have any urge to.

Anybody remember that thread about how addicting the Evo is, and someone had a Z06 and thought something was wrong with it because the steering felt kinda "rubbery" or whatever since he was so used to the Evos tighter steering rack? I know what he means from driving my friend's Supra it felt really weird how that thing handles when you're used to something else.

Uh, the Supra is coming back and one would think the newness and performance of the new Supra will cause a market adjustment for the old heap.

I'm married and have two kids, the Z06 wouldn't be able to accomodate my family....so no to both.

My dad has been a Mopar collector since he got a drivers liscense. However, he has nothing but good things to say about the supra he owned. For the reliability and potential, id take a supra.

Plus, i dont like corvettes.

But i dont own an evo, so it kinda discounts my opinion.

Supra yes Z06 no. I love supras. My buddy has an 850 whp supra stock weight, w/ ITS 74 and hks cams with a completely stock 80,000 mile motor. It ran 10.1 @135 in Phoenix during the summertime on bfg drag radials!

I had a z06 and the brilliant drivetrain and tight chassis are great fun. The car has an exotic aura to it and the sonorous exhaust note is ferrari-esque. BUT, it has a detached floaty handling and the seating position/shifter relationship never felt right to me. If that isn't an issue for you it's not possible to get a better all around 2-seat sports car for the money. I think the red(what I had) is gorgeous and I think it's the only car I've had that I would go in the garage and stare at...

I would consider a supra if for no other reason than I've never had one.

Either car is a brilliant platform for a classy street ride.
