I stated the STS-V and XLR-V were automatic for the people who wanted automatic. IF you remember correctly, you stated they were 77,000 and 100,000 dollar cars. I then replied with the financing difference, reassuring you that 17,000 more isn't much, at least not when you're playing this ball game, with cars in excess of $50,000.

You are comparing your out the door price to those cars list price.

You can "reassure" me that 17K isn't that much all you want, but in the real world it is. I am sales manager at a Cadillac dealer. Even in that "ball game" as you call it, people don't necessarily bump themselves 17 grand, especially when there is so much compeition out there.

Don't blame your poor selling skills of the CTS-V on the transmission the vehicle has. Infact, this goes both ways. Many people didn't buy the NEW M5 because it didn't have a manual option like the old ones. Cadillac seems to want BOTH markets, using the STS-V for the automatic market and the CTS-V for the manual market. So let the big CEOs up in the high-rises who have extensive marketting education worry about how to design the vehicles and market them. You just try and sell them for them.

Even the STS-V at 77,000 is still a "bargain" compared to other luxury performers in its class, i.e. the M5 and the E65 AMG and last years E55 AMG. So I think at 77,000 the competition is very "competitive" against its $100,000 opponents.

and you know what else? I would trust a Japanese car over American one, but i would also trust SOME American cars over MOST German ones too. Interior and exterior door trim falling off on a 330i...seriously, wtf kind of glue/clips are they using?! Germans used to be on the pedestal of reliability and quality, well not anymore, not when American and Japanese are raising their standards. No pun to the German car fanboys out there, they're still very good cars, but considering how all the lil things start falling apart in those cars, no thanks.
