2008 Viper 600hp
This always cracks me up. We're talking about high caliber Viper and Vettes in a power war and you're bringing up an Evo
Noty even in the same class or type. Let's not set unrealistic expectations for our cars. Let's duke it out with STi, Mazdaspeed6, etc
This is just my opinion of course.

Back on topic..
The last version of the viper doesn't appear to be so impressive in this video. Could be skewed, but still..

It does look fun though.

still a 600hp viper. are there faster cars out there that hold better resale, dont know never tried to resell one. but i do know they are fast as hell and do very nice burn outs and from a dig, well lets just say the naturally aspirated 8.4 is not playing.
And you can mod them too just like we do on here. Can you imagine a twin turbocharged and supercharged with NOS V10
I'll be back - I got a stiffy thinking about this
Evo owners saying the interior sucks.....that is funny!!! Viper shops are already saying that it will be a 750whp car with just basic 6lb supercharger kit or 150shot........we'll have to wait until it comes out to see though. Sucky interior that's funny.
People complaining about the interior on a Supercar when they drive an Evo
. Who cares about the interior on a supercar?
That thing is sick. I have always loved the viper, it has a lot of power with no FI and it is damn gorgeous. To compare it to ANY Corvette is to belittle it. I see about 5 million vettes daily (I live in Redneck paradise) and occasionally a Viper, not often. You can honestly say that the Viper is a headturner, the vette not so much...
I have the feeling that this generation of the viper will eat the Z06 in both the straights and the corners.
Last time I checked Musclecars are still kings of the drags and possibly other professional race circuits as well, hmm, C6R comes to mind...

But again, the value of a Ferrari(mid-engine included) is very much dependent on several factors such as mileage, service history, condition, and the market for Ferraris at the time of sale.
I'll give you an example -- the Ferrari 360 Spiders sticker for about ~$160,000 msrp in 2001. The current market value for a 360 Spider is around $170,000(and sinking) -- it sounds like incredible resale value for a 5-year-old car until you realize they actually sold for around $230,000+. So an owner with his 3,000-5,000 mile 360 is currently looking at taking a $50,000+ loss for a car he has barely driven!
If the owner puts 50k-60k miles on the car like many Corvette and Viper owners do -- you can probably tack on an additional loss of $30,000.
This goes without mentioning the cost to maintain a Ferrari that is driven 50k-60k miles -- here is an example with a Ferrari driven about 37,000 miles:
http://www.sportscarmarket.com/articles/archives/939 $65,750.50 spent on just maintenance and basic upkeep for a car driven 36,000 miles.

The warranty on 550 S/N 111317 ran out in March, 2000, at about 13,500 miles. Our subject 550 went to the third owner in September 2006 at 36,200 miles, so the total miles out of warranty was 22,700 miles, with a total spent of $65,760.50, or $2.90 a mile, right at $11,000 a year.
Ferrari ownership is both a lifestyle and a socio-economic statement, just as owning a polo pony is a different venture than keeping a draught horse. As one former owner of S/N 111317 put it, "I spend more than that on crap on eBay every year." No other statement quite sums up the difference between those who lust for a Ferrari from those who can pay the price of ownership.

600 hp isn't going to cover it. GM has already pretty much stepped forth and said they will be producing the Corvette Blue Devil, which will be the home to a 427ci and have either a turbo or a supercharger. $100,000 pricetag. Horsepower figures are said to be around 650 hp.

same cheap interior designed by an elementary school contest.
