Stats on the Z06 CCW drag package skinnies up front, 175 wet shot, heads, GX4 cam, exhaust, tune, clutch, filter. Stock block which is on borrowed time at that power level.

 

I am leaving to cali in 2 weeks to get the Z06. Its going to be my Show baby.
If i wanna go fast, race or drag .. i ll take my beloved AWD EVO

 

I don't mean to sound rude, but thats a huge waste of a great car. If thats all you're going to do with it you should buy a c6

 

The black Z06 looks amazing. You could get a lot out of it with out ever getting in it.

 

Reading this thread, I have one question for yall... WHY do u compare the Z06 to the EVO?

dont get me wrong i have driven alot of cars, Where i come from (kuwait) we have 2 supercars out of 5 cars on the street.

I have driven alot of cars from ferarri, porsche, lambo to Nissan, mazda...etc

EVO is a great car, but its not all that.. I know for a fact that it is wayyyyy better than the 350z, and thats for sure

 

Probably because they are both great bang for you buck types of cars. They are just in different playing fields is all. At the track I go to a bone stock C6 Z06 can run a 1:20 flat with a great driver. Very well set-up evos with r-compounds will dip into the low 1:20's there. It takes alot of money to get an evo to be nearly as good as a stock Z06, you don't have to convice me that it's better.

 

 

Nice pics, it would be fun to have eye candy like that everywhere. When my dad was in dubai, he said it was the same way, supercars everywhere.

To answer the poor guy who has been trying to get info on what can you get out of a Z06. This isn't a Evo vs Z06 thread.

First off Jasil is correct on 6's, 7's pretty much track only cars except the Vette Doctors 7 sec Sick a**car that he drives to the shop most nice dayLOL. Most 8's 9's and 10 second Z's are FI cars but not always. There are a tons of mods out there for C-5 and now C-6. One thing I know for sure for every one 10 or even lower 9 sec Evo out there are a 100 10 sec Vettes and probably 500 Mustangs it is not that uncommon for RWD American cars to run those #'s.

06 and 07 stock Z06's run anywhere from a 12sec @ 120mph ( bad driver ) to a best so far of 10:85 @ 129.85mph with only DR"S on that car. Great driver.

With light bolt on's they get into the high to mid 10's @ 130 - 133mph so far.

One guy MYHardtop on the Vette forums has some light mods CIA, LT headers, tune, not sure on a cam and 100 dry shot on DR's he ran a 9"87 @ 142mph and he said he had a bad 60ft.

I have a Blk on Blk 07 coming last week of March or the first of April. I plan on doing some upgrades. I have talked to a lot of shops and guys on the Vette Forums so I kinda have a plan.


BTW I will keep the AMS built EVO and see what she can do at the track. Should run well since it is the same as Dans old 37r set up only with the new AMS twin fuel rail system.

I will do a comparision starting from when the Z06 is stock to when I begin to throw mods on it and see how it stacks up against the Evo on 93 oct - 100 and C-16 I'll do all kinds of comparisions and see what happens. Should be fun

For some of us the fact that the Z06 wont hold 2 car seats in the back is a deal breaker. If I had 80 grand for a toy I would have one but the truth is cars are not the only thing in life. The Evo is an amazing car for what it is. Also I noticed someone earlier said the Z06 has twice the motor of the Evo.. Make that 3.5 times the motor. 2ltr vs 7ltr. All of that said, I like the new Corvette's ... everything about them, I just cant spend that much on a toy that doesnt meet my A to B requirements.
