Best honda engines?

Hello guys. lately, I've been looking at rsx-s, etc.

I went to their forums and found some really impressive numbers.

Especially on K20's. There was a guy with a K24 block(CRV..Yup CRV) and K20 head w/ 35r

Pushing over 600 whp on a STOCK BLOCK ... WTF?. How is that possible?

Link to it = http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=379984

And this is the dyno sheet -

So my question is , Out of all the honda engines, Which ones are considered as the best engines?.

B/c I think it would be a really cool to do some type of a project car.

Considered that Honda's are known for it's reliability, 40mpg , etc. I just could not believe that Honda engines are yet the strongest engine..

I'd say the K series (RSX, TSX, and yes, CR-V) are overall the best engines K20A/K24A2 (My engine in my 06 TSX)
the F series are rare, only come in the S2000's, are very closely related to the K series. F20C/F22C
the B series is venerable, but is being eclipsed by the K series. However, there is lots of aftermarket knowledge and support for B-powered Hondas. B16A/B18C/B20B etc I don't know the engine names or whatever haha

There are lots of guys out here who know more than me, but I think that's a decent synopsis.

B18C with the "C5" head, and a nice (don't make me say it) SUPERCHARGER! The streetability of an Integra GSR I once *met* was absolutely incredible.
And 'yes' on the K series catching up to the previous B series.

Cheers,

~j.

K20 is the best Honda motor, aside from an F1 motor or something..

I've always liked B18C's and H22's, but the K20's are just better in everyway.

The K24 is in a few cars, new accord, TSX, CRV, maybe something else too.. That's been a popular swap, K24 block and K20 head.

Personally, I'd just stick with the K20, those have made 550whp on the stock block as well. Crazy stuff, makes you wish some Honda engineers would have designed the cylinder head for the Evo..

The K20 has surpassed the B20 in every way. There is a guy who made 307 whp all motor on a K24 bottom end k20 head, with IPS KME cams, header, exhaust, 12:5:1 compression pistons, hondata, intake mani off of a new Si...and a few other little thigns I probably dont know about...but regardless 307 whp all motor out of a 4 cyl is awesome, there is also another guy that made 370something on a 2.6 stroker all motor in his S2k. A stock K20 head flows almost as much air as a Zo6 head does....Honda engineering is definitly not a joke.

The F motors in the s2k have been known to make easily 400+ whp on stock internals with a 3mm headgasket, and a turbo kit....I know for a fact quite a few people have pushed them way beyond that.

So I guess Honda engines are that good huh.......
I always make fun of Honda's because most of the people riced them out.
It just ruins the goodness of honda's.

But Wow.. Their engines are just sick... k20 is probably the best engine for 4cyl ?

I think the K20 is probably one of the best engineered 4cyl motors around. SO is the 4g and the 1.8 that used to com ein the Turbo Celicas

for a moment there i thought i said C5 as in corvette C5 but then i realized it meant b18c5. not sure about the b18c5 head on the b20 block though if ur doing turbo. as for 600whp on the stock block, i doubt that because honda engines are high revved and correct me if im wrong, stock block cant push pass 14 psi without some sorta sleeving.

I don't think anyone has done it. A classic 302 'stang foxbody motor, yes.

k20. i owned a rsx-s with cybernation stage 1 turbo kit. that thing pulled like crazy with 7lb of boost, beat a twin turbo 300zx pusing 17 lb of boose, and a turbo B18 EK.
so deff the k series engine are the best honda engine.
