BMW 135I (All threads merged)
The best of luck on your new 135I, you will love the performance of this car.

Just for the record, the insurance on the BMW is so much cheaper than on the Evo. The gas mileage is vastly improved also when compared to the Evo.
My calculations put this car in the 21mpg city/31-32mpg hwy, astonishing for the size of the engine and that is why this N54 all aluminium engine took the award for engine of the year in Motortrend, it is excellent in gas mileage.

A 335 xi AWD would be bad ***. At $35k this might become one of (if not the) best bang for the buck performance cars on the market. We'll hve to wait to see the details and not just speculation based on numbers fom the 335.
This will change once kids jump on the bandwagon and start crashing them. This car is still fairly new and expensive so not everybody's got one. Not sure if you remember, but Evo when it came out had dirt cheap insurance. 3 years fast-forward and it's the most expensive to insure. In 03, it was cheaper to insure than my Accord

but still, I also agree its too bad they won't be bringing over the hatch, I like that model also.
BMW "Bring Momma to Work". I would love to get this car, but if a BMW goes in mygarage it will be a 7 Series for the wife and I wont be able to afford one for myself. Guess I am stuck with the Evo.
i'm assuming it will be around $40K for an AWD version, which is still a great price for a rocket Bimmer!
edit: i would probably get a 135xi before i get an Evo X

Rumors and gossip really don't count. The dealers confirmed that the BMW135i is coming to America with the 128I and the 135i Twin turbo. This last one will have a six pot calipers.
I received a direct phone call from my salesman to let me know that it is scheduled to be launch in Spring 08 but I am sure it will occur sooner.
If you were looking for a fast and affordable car with 4 year warranty don't find any excuse, plan for it, this is the car for you, all I can say is that it will be fast with capital letters.
Don't listen to the 5.3 0-60sec claim from BMW , this is a mid 4 sec 0-60 car guys!!!

This will be the brute powerplant that we all dreamed to have in a smaller chasi. This is the slap in both side of the face to the uncomprehensible resale market to the arrogant Supra World.
Your money will go one million light years farther and more worthy than buying a used Supra for $10k less of what this car will cost new. Who said the Supras were fast stock?
This is it people, great powerplant with an affordable price tag for the masses..

.I wouldn't anoint the N54 as the next 2JZ-GTE yet.
I've seen BPU (I forgot what Supra guys label with each + after BPU) run mid 12's at 115 - 120MPH at Raceway Park, and Supra's are known for their lack of traction off the line.
A healthy full BPU Supra should dyno between 410- 430whp on a Dynojet, which is right in line with what the 335i's are seeing, and no 335i (to my knowledge) has achieved the aforementioned times.
Not to say the 335i dynos are inflated, I don't really know enough about dynos and tuning to comment on that, but let's save our lauds until we know how well the engine can hold under prolonged higher boost levels.
I wouldn't mine picking up a nice 535i for a family car though
