Nonetheless I agree with you that the 135i looks to be a great package in terms of power to weight ratio.

I'm actually surprised BMW plans to relese the 1-series at all considering the relative failure of the old 318, Americans attitudes towards buying low end models of luxury brands, and how in some ways the 1-series will compete with BMW's own Mini brand.

Now how long can we wait for a M1; wait there already was one .

318 vs a 135 is no comparison...at least from a drivers point of view.

They already released the AWD 335xi sedan and will be lanuching the coupe 335xi this november. However, I am liking the 135i especially if it comes in AWD!

I am not sure if you are refering to the older SLK Kompresssor or the "new ones 280 and 350s(beautiful cars by the way). I must admit the new 350 is a heck of a car but the price tag is definately a downside, low $50k with no options(after taxes and registration).

The 135i is without a doubt in a different league. This is the well announced "entry " model that BMW always promised to the "middle class" consumer/buyer.

Just like Mercedes did with the compact class and lexus brought the 250 series this is the BMW" way to say: "here is the 1 series, we can also provide you with a very competitive car for an affordable price".

I will reiterate that the 135i will change the market in many ways, it is going to be one of the fastest/quickest cars around with a top notch quality, steellar gas mileage, great comfort, awesome chassi, great price, good everything and that is why I am asking you to hold on to the mercedes purchase, the BMW 135I will be ideal for you.

I'm not 100% how accurate this is.... but we've bought 4 cars from this dealership in the past 2 years since thats all my parents drive, so i doubt they'd be pulling our leg.

Carlos,

Will there be a 4-door sedan in the 135 Series?

Jim,

From what I read, the 4 door is offered in the higfh demanded European market in the form of hatchback 1 series, but I will bit money that this will not be your cup of tea, this is a European thing... kind of like when you go to Europe and people wear speedos there (just kidding).

Again, no, for now the coupe will be the only model available. There is not much room really to put 4 doors except on the hatch back model(only sold in Europe for now).

My suggestion as a friend will be to get the 4 door sedan 335i. It is as big as a Evo and it is a decent price. You can always get the 9MSRP off if you do the European delivery.

I promised any of my EvoM members a ride on my car, I stand strong, so far I gave rides to rraulston and Edwin(both from Tucson) and they love it. You can drive my car hard if you want, you know me... .

Definately do not miss a test drive on this car, it is that addicting, no joke, it will make you change the concept of driving, this car is fast without breaking a sweat, it takes nothing but partiall thotle to feel fast, the torque on this N54 engine proves itself on the traffic lights.

$32,495 MSRP for the 135i? holly SHHHHH HHITTTT that is a steal!!! Are you sure it was not for the 328i?

If your dealer sells the 135i for such price I can tell you that the streets will be virtually floaded of 135I.

32.5 sounds about right. A lot of the sites are saying 33- 33.5. I don't think bmw can risk raising the price any higher then 33.5. Great car but for it's size it should be much lighter.
