2008 Toyota Supra Rumors (MERGE)
Toyota is coming up on 50 years in the buissness.
What better way to celebrate than announcing the return of the Supra. It is coming
I'm guessing on the power plant ,
5.0 L. 500 hp V10. They wan't to go up againts Ferrari's.

There is no way the next supra will have a V-10, with 500hp. It's just not feasible. I think they will resurrect the Supra, but it will not be an exotic. I am thinking 45-50k with about 400 hp V8. They will not make the same mistake twice and charge too much for a sports car. If toyota is going to do a 100k+ car they will do it right and it will have a V10 handed down from their Formula program. This pic may be of the next supra, but mark my words there will be a semi-exotic first at around 100k, then they will bring back the Supra not long after at about half the price. Don't forget Nissan will be bringing the Skyline GTR to the states in 2007 and it will have about 425-450hp and will be priced around 60k! It will be based off the current Japan Market Skyline/US market G35.

It's fun to specultate but noone knows for sure what is happening, I am just basing my opinion and drawn my own conclusion from the info at hand. And yes I do have the new sport compact car, I have subscriptions to about 6 major car magazines. Considering Toyota has excatly ZERO perforamance cars in their entire US market right now, anything new and performance oriented from them will be an improvement. Toyota is one of the most profitable car manufacturers becasue they sell what sells the most, small economic cars and any type of truck/suv. How many 100k Supras are they going to sell? I would not buy one even if I had an extra 100k laying around. Do you know how many badass cars you can get your hands on for 100k that don't say TOYOTA on them!!!!!!
Toyota if you are reading this please take note from just one measly car guy.... build the Supra, but don't make it too expensive. We will pay 40k even 45k for it if the performance and technology is there. Please keep with the tradition on Supras, make it an inline or even a V6 and turbocharge it. If you wan't a Halo car for 100k+ and 500 hp V10, awesome build it. Just make it 100k worthy and name it something other than Toyota and Supra. My suggestion... Lexus RS 850 (since Lexus seems to have to have an obsesstion numerical names)

well, they're making a super exotic f-1 based car for their 50th anniversary. and honestly the spy shots suggest that it's got the same curve and design elements as the supra sketch we saw earlier.
So maybe they'll have the V10 supra.
It is the V10 with Variable valve tech.

i saw this pic somewhere, forgot where, but saved it, supposedly has 220HP.
they are saving some sporty cars for themselves in japan.
They always do.
Even where I am from in the Caribbean we have j spec cars. (godfather is a Toyota dealer)
but we never get all the good Japanese cars.
Some of the models don't even look the same. Their corolla is completely different looking.

The new Lexus super car they released yesterday looks alot like the car in the latest Sport Compact Car that they were hyping the New Supra. I think this may be close to what the car is.

Hey you guys check it out I have some more pics of the new supra that going to be under the lexus name. Right now it's call the Lexus LFA, they are showing it off at the international car show and on the Lexus site. I guess that I might have to get the one that's going to sell at around 30-40K (maybe it's a N/A), I can't afford the one that's all carbon fiber and around 500hp since I heard prices are going to be around 100K http://www.dieselstation.com/archive/Lexus-LFA-Concept/
