2008 Toyota Supra Rumors (MERGE)
then if its N/A it might not be as mod friendly. im sure it will be strong enough, but it wont be like a turbo, evo for example, where a full catless exhaust costs you a grand and is good for 30HP. it better not be like an audi or bimmer. throw a full exhaust on those and you bag 5HP. ghey.
screw toyota...they abandoned us...they make quality cars but why buy a camry or corolla when you can get an accord or civic for 3k cheaper. the used supra's are insane expensive for a car that is front end heavy and has aftermarket parts that are $$$ if I wanted to build a drag car , I'd buy a mustang/camaro and save huge $$$
I would like to see this car as a turbo. Most people who buy Supra's want to modify them. They should sell to thier orginal market. And just like BMW they could very easily get very decent gas milage out of a turbo.
nobody is dreaming were just saying that if it does happen they better make it worthwhile, or it will flop. i dont want to see a supra remake turn out like the rx8 and be an underpowered chick car.

From a business side, I see it as a perfect combination. By making the car lighter than the Z and with more HP in a NA engine, you are going to get an nice balance of performance, reliability and cost in one sports car package.
Only the hardcore are after the twin turbo deal. Would I like to see it with turbos? Yes, but the cost will push the car from the 30k+ to the 45-50k or so. I can see it being that expensive. Then we will all be *****ing about the price.
The Supra of past was competing with the GTR, but I think in todays market of the Z is a good target. The Z itself caters to casual sports drivers to enthusisists. It can cover the market segment while attracting all kinds of buyers.
In 2009 I will be looking into the GTR. But all price points make it to be over 60-70k. I would like the Supra as a sport gt coupe with a bit of refinement with decent hp to weight ratio. Even if it would be slower than my EVO when I am done, I would still drive it for the hell of it!
