hahahha

Toyo is going to cashcow the next gen supra like Nissan w/ the 350z to the yuppie, trendy or aspiring lawyer or doctor type!

Looks like a blend of Dodge stealth, C5 vette, big mouth 'maro in teh mid 90's, and RX-8.

"For the past decade their lineup has SUCKED!"
How can you say that? Have you looked at their profit margin comparing to other automakers around the world? They are knocking on the back door of GM in overall production in thw world. It's like saying "you suck Bill Gates!" or "you're an ugly nerd!". He could care less, because he has the money to get things moving in favor for him, even our gov't and euro gov'ts.

Toyo was nothing in the 80's. Look at them now.

They probably are. How can you blame Nissan? They're out to make money, and the 350Z has been a good seller for them. Even though it's not a supercar in terms of performance it is very close to that of the Evo. (again, C&D shows the track model 350Z beating out an MR). And Nissan does not currently have any direct competition.

Toyota is like all other car businesses. They are out to make money and I'm sure they've seen what the 350Z has done for Nissan and they know they can do the same. You can't blame them.

But when the Supra comes out and is reviewed better than the 350Z, Nissan is going to up the ante and refine their car to outperform the Supra the following year. Then Toyota will do the same and back and forth we go. This is good competition.

^^^

Hardcore tuners would say Supra shouldn't cater to such crowd. To me, it's fine and dandy. Just like the impending skyline, garage tuners praised up and down that a next gen powerhouse is coming to the US from mag's rumor-mongering.

When the Tauras SHO came out, a lot of performance drivers wanted manual tranny for the SHO, but Ford provided demographic surveys that manual driver were a very small mionority in SHO sales.

Looks great. I think it looks a lot better than all the evo models including X. If it were AWD I'd take one one in a heart beat. All the guys calling it lame would probably be jocking my nuts if I rolled up in one. Don't get me wrong, evos are great cars but the styling is not the cleanest looking out there.

The third generation Supras or MK III Supras were pretty heavy. My nephews 90 weighed in at almost 4,000 pounds. The MK IV's were definitely lighter. The new Supra looks pretty cool and 350 horsepower from a six cylinder N/A motor is not too shabby.

Anyways, false reports. Toyota has made it official the supra is done, gone... bye, bye... PEACE and not coming back. The closes thing to it is the IS500.

I mean to say there will not be a 2008 Supra is just as false IMO as to say there will be. Let's look at the facts, Toyota (the company) has not yet comfirmed or denied anything, all of this is coming from rumors. Even reports of no new Supra are rumors, most likely from leftlanenews.com or automotive news, but then you have others and some have much more clout in the automotive industry then leftlanenews.com. Is it a guarrantee there will be a new Supra, of course not. Is there guarrantee there will not be a new Supra, no. So it's up to you, I choose to be optimistic, I see a need for a Supra, and if done right I see it selling many models, to claim Toyota doesn't reckonize this either is ludicrous.

There is a difference, Mitsubishi brought the evo over mainly for finacial reasons, toyota is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from hurting in the finacial department. Toyota could not make a new supra and continue to still dominant the USDM, EDM and JDM markets for years to come.

That's the problem, YOU see a need for it, toyota does not. They haven't had a production supra for almost 8 years and are doing perfectly fine. They are #1 in japan, #2 in america (unless they have finally pass GM) and continue to improve there images as the best in quality for the worldwide market. There Toyota, Lexus, Scion and soon to be SMART lineup is doing beautiful right now, so why is there a need for a supra? Toyota is not into the car enthusiast sports market, as that is a niche market and is like what? Less than something like 10% of the automotive market as a whole?! They don't need an evo, sti, 350z, s2000 killer... sounds like something enthusiast want, not toyota.

So keep dreaming and trying to keep hope alive, but it's not happening, as there would have been offical pics by now, because everything we have seen is artists concept or renders some 16y/o has done on his photoshop.

Just something to tickle your fancy, a report on the future of toyota... Click Here
