I'm going to go out on a limb and say fast with excessively useless wheelspin.

I dont really like the SRT4 forums. I don't know why but I feel I would get a better answer here. I know about the traction issues but I mean how it spools and power with a good tune. Also what might be comparable to it. Im researching this on the side but would appreciate help. Thanks again

I figured it would only be good from a roll but I was kind interested in spool bc I havent went to a track day yet but I would love too. It doesnt matter how much whp you have if you cant drive. Also I went and posted in the srt4 forums after a few searches but its bad when I would take an evo mans advice before another srt4 owners. The topics and discussions (in general) on here are alot more useful in my opinion. Thanks

you do realize you're on the anti-SRT4 forums right? I've owned an srt4 inbetween owning my 2 evos and it is a great car. its fast and cheap and it gets gas like a civic or accord. Wheelspin is a given on any fwd car with power and torque.

Ive seen tons of threads on here on how lots of evo owners simply follow the srt4 hatred bandwagon, but its a great bang for the buck car....as some evo owners would say about the evo as well.

If you decide to go the 35r route which im sure will be a beast...make sure you upgrade the axles up front as they will definetely give especially on DR's or slicks. one thing i really didnt like about the SRT is they cant really take wide wheels (stocks were 17x6 i believe)

I know Im on an Evo site but I was hoping someone like you would come along bc I dont really like the srt4 forum. Do you know the widest wheels it can take? Also I might just pony up extra and get an Evo but the insurence is alot more and Im in school, woking 40+, and I have a daughter so Im just trying to have fun with what I have for now. When you had the srt what was your setup/goals? If you dont mind me asking. Thanks

the SRT-4's biggest downfall is the 6200 rev limiter. A 35R will hit boost about 4000, a tad sooner than a 2.0 Evo. The spool is pretty good, but without raising the rev limiter, your usable powerband is pretty narrow.

If AEM's were quicker to hit the market when we had ours, we may had gone much further with it.

Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehLnv...eature=related

He is selling his car now but thats the limit on thier kit. If you wanna make more then you are going to need to spend some money. here is a list of my mods it cost more than you want to spend though I think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siRqHjOYioc

i didnt have huge plans for it. here are the mods off the top of my head:

Mopar Stage 2 (the ecu upgrade, full exhaust(no cats) intake etc...)
AGP FMIC (the biggest 1 they had. So big the front bumper had to be trimmed on the edges)
Mopar coilovers
Mopar short shifter
and some cosmetic stuff..

The car was quick as hell up top. I could easily take out modded 350s/s2ks. I did manage to race 2 evos the entire time i owned my SRT and on the highway it was absolutely no competition for the evo. At low speeds, the evo did manage to pull but not by a lot until i could actually hook-up and i did pull away. keep in mind these were not heavily modded evos..but nor was my SRT

My buddy has a supercharged V8 titan truck and a supercharged G35 and i pulled both (again..once i actually hooked up)
The only cars i can actually remember losing to was another SRT4 that had no exhaust system, 110 octane and slicks up front (gave me 5 car jump) and a 03 Cobra with exhaust

I ran the stock wheels with 215 RT615s up front and they def helped as long as i played with the throttle. here's a pic of it before i sold it off...

on a side note: the exhaust note on this car was monsterous. I had the borla cat-back with cat-delete and i could drone out V8si

i really liked my SRT for the time i owned it. I got it for a good deal and after driving it for a year i lost nothing on it. I actually made like 3-4k.
The coilovers were stiff as HELL. I went on canyon runs in socal with wrx, stis, and 240s and i managed to hang very nicely (could also be because i was cutting corners so hard i was literally getting within inches of the walls) I drove it for about 20-30k miles and i never had a single issue except weak axles

Wow thanks for all the help. I think the Srt4 is better for me now but the Evo is more of an itch I need to scratch, I have wanted one since I saw it on Gran Turismo back in like 1st grade. I did see that Srt4 for sale on Amsperformance.com but its gone now I think. I might look into AGP also but I just like AMS so much it would have to be a killer deal. Thanks and if anything else is found let me know
