Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
What I hate about the X is ppl are comparing it to REAL Evos..! They are so different, unlike a 1-2,2-3,4-5,6-7,8-9.
This is a different tale as for one its aimed at the older crowd, Mitsu cares about money know more than ever in comparison as to when it just wanted to get it sales done to enter the damn thing into the WRC.
I hate the X fanboys who dont know nothing about the Evo except the fact that is fast and got their asses handed to them in their prior civics, sti, camaros, stangs, srt-POOR, and they feel the need to have one.. hahaha..! Hence why I think they should of limited the production but hey MONEY makes the world go round!
Man if mitsu wanted a new direction they should of just created a new breed, a new legend if you so want to call it as all they did was stain a legend.. who looks and its nothing like the X.. No 4G63.. WTF? I am sure they could of added MIVEC to the exhaust side and redefined the head making it more eco-friendly as well as throwing the AYC for the USDM making it lap faster.
From now on am calling this car the SUPER SEDAN X as its not worthy of a Evolution Badge..!

lol i dont think sounds a problem when he's tired... the exhaust will prolly put him to sleep.. when hes in the ford i turn my subs all the way down but they still bump a little and he goes to sleep fine with that

Have you driven an Evolution X? If not, please don't criticize. People like you are the reason people like me do not like the new Evo.
One thought i would like to put in here.
Originaly the mitsubishi made the evolution for homlogate the car into the WRC.
Wich was requierd to sell 2500 unit. They sold the evolution 1 in just 3 days. Then they MADE AN OTHER 2500 UNIT TO SATISFYING THE FANS.
They could have made more and more ,but they didn't. Because the Evolution never was designed to be a DD. Or driven by anyone.
NOW that is what i call the real purpose for the Evolution.
TODAY... the Evolution X made for selling wider audience.... and more family oriented more liveable .
wich is a good purpouse for the minivan.

Which, to the ops point, shows how different a car this is than previous generations. The audience for it seems vastly different from the fanboys of old. While we wanted power and performance, the newer buyers are attracted to a pretty interior and safety features--not to mention the much friendlier SST transmission. No, it doesn't take a god to drive a stick, but it is a skill that has to be learned. Just like riding a bike you're going to fall (stall) a few times, and some don't want that hassle.
The reason you see so much "hating" is because we're basically welcoming a whole new crowd to the EvoM site. That crowd has wildly different opinions of what makes a good car, so naturally we're going to have a few clashes.
If you view the poll I created a while back, https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=322051 , you'll see a good majority of Evo X owners are first time buyers. That's really not surprising. Also not surprising is that many VIII owners are upgrading to the X, which makes sense if they have high mileage and want to stick with the Evo name. What you don't see are many (7 as of this posting) jumping from the IX to the X.
So why go on and on criticizing it? Well, it's a message board where discussions are encouraged. Repeating the same types of praise over and over is really no different than posting the same criticisms. It's really nothing to lose sleep over, but don't expect a whole group of Evo lovers to not speak their mind when the 4G63 is tossed aside in favor of an emission-friendly engine.

The USA spec Evo IX and VIII have a tendency to understeer like any other front heavy car. You don't see a hint of that with the X, so I think its a lot better canvas to build a track star from. If you get a chance, take a X out on your favorite curvy road. But first, hold down the ASC OFF button down for a few seconds until the central display changes colors and tells you all the safety nancies are disabled.
The X owners and enthusiasts have a point; a lot of the 4G63 haters have never driven or even seen an Evo X yet! If you haven't felt SAYC transfer 4 times the torque to the rear wheel that actually needs it and almost oversteered off the road, you have not experienced what the USA has been getting screwed over on since way back in 2003 since the SAYC had to be removed for some of our emissions requirements that needed that same spot.
That is so true! most of the X lovers are actually new to the evo scene and not knowing the history would just cast off the previous evo's as has been. I see them driving civics, honda(other types) and would just like to go to debates when they are not in the market to begin with.

I would way rather have it on one place like this instead of trashing every Evo X tech thread.
Lets keep personal flaming out of this one, gentlemen. I think we can hash out a lot of good stuff here. Thanks to BOOSTEZ for starting a new thread and keeping it in one place. BOOSTEZ, I am going to change the title to something a little less inflamatory.
