Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
If I was going to purchase another evo right now, it would be an X.
For some reason when I was buying my current evo I thought I was going to be building some sort of street beast. This is why I went for the 5-speed over the 6-speed. I've had the car for a while now, and my only "modifications" is a freaking drop-in filter. I have a Greddy Ti & bilsteins sitting in my basement, but I haven't installed any of it.
I like the X because it looks more sophisticated (less boy-racer) in my eyes.

the x does look a little more grown up
lol at the nose chop, agree there but i like the ix look a little better for some reason
and honestly its just going to be a dd with a kick since i cant afford any more tickets on my record right now. and i currently have an lsx fd pushing 450+hp so this would be a completely different car

My only regret after having the X for awhile is how I don't want to trash the car to mod it.....
It's too new, too nice, and buying new means I know it hasn't been abused, thus I don't want to start.
Should have bought a used X for cheap and just built it up instead of new like I did. I'm hungry for mods but still under 15K miles on essentially a 40K car. Only regret so far though. Love everything else.

VIII/IX to X
Would you do it? I'm on the fences still, I have the money just having a hard time letting go of my VIII. Every time I look at it, I remember rwhy I chose it over an X in the first place. Any input from maybe people who made the switch
I've had two 8's, three 9's and an X.
Depends what you want really... The story has always been the same...
If you wanna go fastest buy a 9.
If you wanna stay cheap get 8.
If you want some more comfort and luxury and don't mind the (quite a bit) higher maintenance - get the X.
That being said, I'm doing a build somewhere down the road and I'll be doing a 2.4L IX.

I would own a X but I wouldn't give up my VIII for one.
Hell I wouldn't even straight trade my nearly 150k mile VIII for a brand new 2014 off the lot
May pick one up used down the road we'll see

As opposed to one of the other previous posts--there is nothing cheap about the VIII--not even remotely.
