I do agree with this. Why does just about every car that is good for the environment have to look like a jelly bean or a cockroach and don't tell me it's for aerodynamics. I don't buy that for minute.

94mpg, yeah right.

Toyota claims 60mpg on the actual Prius but most of car mags are getting about 40-42 mpg. BTW, I get 45-48 mpg on my old '90 CRX Si.

Any modern and efficient Turbo Diesel can best those numbers with far better performance.

65-70mpg is the normal entry turbodiesel car gas mileage in Europe(has been like that for the last 10 years). The prius is just a OK car, light years to impress me but way ahead to impress anyone driving a car in the US.

Knowing that there are a few millions (did I said millions?)cars circulating in Europe that get 60mpg plus I think the Prius comes as a secondary subject. I am not trying so sound like a dik, I am just saying that the technology is there, has always been there (turbo diesel more eficient than Hybrid), we just don't want to import them. We prefer driving SUV's with 24" that gets you 10mpg and eat triple cheese burguers, time is catching up and we are in borrowed time guys, the gas prices will continuosly raise and we really need to import the turbodiesel cars(instead of hybrids).

Thank you Carlos

And that is the reason why Prius' sales in Europe are marginal. Why spend $5k more on a car that gets 20-25 mpg less than any TDI and far worse performance?
