SRT-10 for cruising around?

For those fortunate enough to own a 4th gen. Viper or those who have ridden in one for any length of time (at least one hour continuously), how uncomfortable is it for longer trips? I know that they got rid of the exhaust crossover beneath the seats, so the cabin does not get as hot as it used to. How uncomfortable are the seats/seating position? How cramped does it get for your legs/body? I've heard that there is no point in having the radio on due to the exhaust note. But how much road noise do you get in the coupe version? How terrible is the ride (stiff)? I am adding this to my list of possible cars to purchase next year. I am seriously considering the ACR version which would have an even stiffer ride. I used to cruise around town in my Supra (before I sold it, sniff, sniff ) for hours at a time. Would I regret doing this in a Viper?
Any input would be appreciated. Please give constructive criticism, not "Vipers are crap" type comments. I know that they are not "crap" at the track. They may have bad construction quality, though. And that is the type of info I would like to have. And if anyone knows of a good/informative Viper forum, please let me know. I've been kind of hunting around the web for one.
Thanks
James

I haven't sat in the newest model but I sat in the first and second gen and they are not only difficult to get in but also uncomfortable. Ask ray(rraulston) he had one and it was a nightmare just to get in and out.

Quality wise, they are coming along very well, the first models were nothing but plastic and spartan interior but the newest Vipers are much better made now.. I have two local friends with Vipers and if you really want some real feedback I can have them call you.

I have been following and reading all your post for the last few days-weeks, I have seen your frustation with the GTR and I understand that you are opening your horizon to other alternative cars. I will suggest physically going to the dealer and sit on one.

Based on what we have seen in the last weeks(comparos, reviews, real market prices), the ACR seens like a total killer on that price range.

Good luck!

Carlos

Thanks for the quick reply . I wasn't sure if anyone on the forum would have had the chance to drive/ride in one for any length of time. I am not too concerned with getting in and out (not quite old enough yet for my knees to go out in the process ), but I am very concerned with the comfort on longer cruises. Keep in mind that I used to own an Evo and an STI, so I'm not looking for luxury car feel, but I don't want my legs to fall asleep from being in an akward position for too long. Unfortunately, none of the dealerships within 50 miles of me have one in stock to sit in. I have left my name and number with my local dealer so that I can sit in an 09 when they hit the showroom floor later this fall.

I'm not too worried about the GTR prices/markups yet since I can't even make the move on a car until next year. I am still hoping that the markups will go away by then. But, even if they do, I may still go with something else. I have no brand affiliation and am willing to see the good and bad in any vehicle. I just want the best vehicle for my situation in the price range that I can afford. And I will not pay over MSRP for any vehicle.
Thanks again, I'll PM you a cell phone number if you can pass it on too your friends.
