well at least we know that the eVo can be reliable with high millage...thanks for being the sacrificial lamb so that the others can benefit from your experience...BTW...since I don't do much highway driving...how is your car on gas with all that highway driving? You probably spent a lot during those 50K miles of highway driving...lol...

close to 70k. and that was with me driving aggressively (it's what i do), autocrossing, and drag racing occasionally. i think i could have gotten more life out of it if i wouldn't have had to learn to launch it haha. took me a few tries to get it right...and i smelled a lot of burning clutch those first few times. once i realized you hold your foot to the floor and let the two step do the work, my launches came a lot easier haha

i try not to think about how much money i spent on gas during the past 7 months because i haven't cried today...and i'd like to keep it that way. i averaged between 21-23mpg with all the driving. sometimes worse, never better. i drive fast though. when following my gf from my home town to the new apartment though, i drafted on her the whole way and actually got about 24-25mpg, but that's the only time that's ever happened. the EVO sucks on gas...good thing i make a lot of money, otherwise i wouldn't have been able to afford to drive to work haha

Thumbs up

Are you on the stock turbo? Are you burning any oil? and how often and what oil are you using. Same question about your trans and tc? Sounds like you got a good car, keep us updated on mileage and problems.

stock everything pretty much. mods are in sig. i've been using royal purple with a mobile 1 filter since probably 20k miles... tranny, tc, diffs, all OEM diaqueen fluids. car doesn't burn any oil. no leaks anywhere, no problems other than my noisy coilovers (buddy club racing specs that will be replaced soon with HKS hypermax III's)

the only problem i've ever had with the car that's really pissed me off is when i made the mistake of going with an Exedy stage 1 clutch when my stocker went out. high rpm lockout issues, rough engagement, engagement is too high in the pedal, it's just a piece of ****. i'll be yanking this one to go back to another stocker soon.

While that's pretty amazing mileage on an '06, I have to ask: Why in the **** didn't you get a cheap apartment to stay at during the week while waiting on your house to sell?

Good god, 340 miles of commute every day would pretty much make me kill myself.
