Chevy Cobalt SS turbo vs Evo X

Just wondering what you guys think of this matchup both completely stock with 2 good drivers on a track. 2 things that just don't sell the Cobalt to me - One is the thing definitely looks like a chick car and 2 - The FWD on the Cobalt vs AWD for the Evo X.

Depends on the track. Short track = EVO X winner Long track = Most likely a close tie.

As you mod the cobalt, FWD will start to really become a PITA.

3 things don't sell the Cobalt to me, the two you mention and 3. - It's a Chevy Cobalt!

Seriously, I don't care what Chevy has done to it, what kind of numbers it puts down, or the "bang-for-the-buck" arguement - it's a freakin' Cobalt! End of discussion.

And the Evo is just a lancer, ewww. I mean really, don't get me wrong, I own and evo, just bought it - and LOVE it. But I hate the argument, its just a cobalt, or its still a neon. Well that cobalt SS/neon SRT-4 just whooped my *** (or could).

They make "budget" "race" cars and the budget has to come in somwhere. They are fast, but sacrifice a lot. I think the Evo just sacrifices a little bit, not everything like a cobalt/neon srt4/caliber srt4. At least Mitsubishi didn't sacrifice looks

My guess is that the Cobalt would be substantially more difficult to drive fast on a road course.

The Cobalt did pretty well on the Ring though!

Overall Evo X >>> Cobalt SS T/C

BUT the Cobalt SS T/C is still a great car. I think stock vs stock they can be pretty similar in terms of speed overall. Once you get to moddng it shouldn't be able to hold a candle to the Evo though, due to the drivetrain differences

The Ferrari Enzo is just a Ferrari Enzo!! so I don't care about anything else , that is why I wouldn't buy a Ferrari.
The Buggatti Veiron no matter what is still a Buggati Veiron!!

Listen to you. You don't have a criteria, it hurt you bad that that a FWD car with no advertizing actually laps as fast than a Evo X on any track(Nurburgring, VIR, etc). I personally don't care, the Cobalt is there and if you like it buy it , the same thing goes for the Evo X but you need to be a bit more mature and make some intelligent comments. Saying that is still a Cobalt don't fly at all.

You're the man Carlos! He's right. The Cobalt may not be for everyone, but give credit where it is deserved. It's a pretty quick car.

I keep getting accosted by a local buddy with a 'Balt. Most of it is in fun. Stock to stock, it has much better power:weight than an X. It also handles really well for a FWD and is a little track terror. They are exceptional value for the money.

All that said, the buck stops there. Once the mods pile on, FWD is a major handicap. The car is harder to tune, because it is DI, so there are limitations. The aftermarket is also a lot thinner than our aftermarket is.

FWD modded turbo car = tire smoker.
AWD modded turbo car = can utilize the traction.
