Chevy Cobalt SS turbo vs Evo X
And then you rushed home and google'd Evolution forums, registered an account just to post that Evo's are slow... Well I have a 5 year old car in my garage that would run laps around your Slobalt..
EVO needs a driver mod if it lost to a stock Cobalt in a drag race.
also, as a note about the Cobalt SS time attack car, it was a factory backed effort with more money (probably 20 times more) than any other car at the event, and it had a 200 shot of nitrous for the straights. the only car i know of at the event running nitrous.
as for the "lightning lap" i don't trust those things because magazine editors can't drive for ****. the last one they did with the EVO IX MR, 350Z track, and old cobalt SS, there were multiple corners where the cobalt, FWD and all, had higher corner entry AND EXIT speeds than the Z and the EVO. that tells me one thing...they couldn't drive. driving an AWD car is nothing like driving a RWD or FWD car. those guys never know what they are doing when they get behind the wheel of an STi or EVO. they need to stick to vettes and civics and bring in someone else when they test AWD turbo cars.

Truth is there are tracks where the cobalt SS is faster than the Evo. From what I've heard the cobalt SS handles very well for a front wheel drive car and I think people need to drive them more to discover that the cobalt SS is a special car. Of course FWD has it's limits, but for most of the people that don't track their cars, I bet they'll have just as much fun in a cobalt SS as they would in and Evo. Plus I love how they look like rental cars. Who wouldn't want to smoke an Evo in something that looks like it came from the Hertz rental lot?
all i know its my car beat one when i drag raced him "legally of course." Mines stock other than a tbe and he had full exhaust, intake, and a few other toys on his car. He was having trouble with the fwd
IX - 8:11
Colbalt SS TC - 8:22.85
Cobalt SS TC - 9:02 (wet track)

you don't see EVO owners going to Z06 and GTR forums and making up wild scenarios in which the EVO might have a shot at winning because it's just stupid. Your car is quick for what it is, but it's no EVO. you knew that when you bought it, so just give it a ****ing rest already.
