sti test drive

Personally I would wait for the new Lotus Elise. I plan on buying one as soon as I pay off my STi. That is the car I wanted but didn't know if it was coming to the USA. That car is awesome. Just image adding more power to the 190 hp. It will pull low 4's and still handle better than the EVO and STi.

EVO MOTOR: Inline 4 that has more research and design money towards it. Which is the whole industry VS. Porche and Subaru. Also, the Evo 8 has the 4g63 block which is super strong and is used in the real rally car. The 4g63 is also used in the Eclipse, and talon, and many other cars. There are a lot of parts and tuner setups already available for the EVO. Motor work alone the Evo has a huge advantage.
STI MOTOR: Sti is 2.5 liter making it not true to rally spec. The 2.5 is not used in the rally car taking away many of the 2.0 tuner formulas used in JAPAN.
CONCLUSION: The Evo is better for modification.

Well I swapped cars with a neighbor that has a stock STi tonight. He drove my Evo while I tailed him in his STi. I liked the interior of the STi a lot, especially the gauges. Much better than our cars. However, it felt odd, maybe due to the active diff. When we got to a clear opening, he punched it in. I tried to keep up, but the STi didn't have enough juice. With a few mods, the Evo will CLOWN the STi. No kidding.

I dont understand why everyone always dogs the EVO interior. Its a true sports car. It has a basic and clean interior and the focus is on performance. It should come with a boost guage in place of that little gay lancer pod!!!!!

its kind of sad that subaru who has really left their mark on the rally racing world and are well known tuners had to use a 2.5 liter engine just to keep up with the evo's 2.0. just my .02
2.5 liter garbage unknown motor..thats all i have to say
Garbage-No
Give the tuners time, its a new engine.
As for the cars, it really is personal preference. I went and checked out the EVO, then the STi(i'm lucky the dealers are within a mile of each other). I prefered the STi. The only problem i have is the REV limit that i bounce off when launching.
I wonder if the EVO and Sti group will ever get along, Its a shame that we dont learn from each others cars, and hang out and shoot the crap.......... I chose the EVO because I like it better someone else chose the Sti because they like it beter, buy what you like and what fits your needs. There are alot of cars new and used that you can get for $30,000 and under.
