Evo out - GSX in!
Well, not too long ago, I rid of myself of my Evo. Ive moved back to the DSM scene, but this time stayed away from the 90-94's and got myself a prestine 97 GSX. Without further ado, I give you my 97 Eclipse GSX.

sucker, you didn't get a steering wheel!
Looks nice! I'm curious why you jumped out of the Evo? Personal taste, financial, or something else? What are the specs on this car?
*edit - whoops, missed the steering wheel in a few of those shots.

LOL! Wouldn't call it a backtrack. Im going to tell you, this car has ALOT MORE off-boost power than my Evo did with a STOCK turbo. It is EXTREMELY well put together, and when the motor was built, all the water jackets and oil passages were slightly ported, so the temps ALWAYS stay normal with no problem.
Its on a mistu-based framed turbo (personally I think its a restrictive exhaust housing). Its a FP 3575. Fully built 6-bolt 2.0 that revs to 9500rpm. Shep stage 4 trans, PTT twin disk, the rest is pretty visible. 1600cc injectors, walbro 255 intank with a bosch 044 inline.
Car drives amazing on the street. Trans shifts just as good as my Evo (had a TTR stage 1 trans), and like I said, has MUCH better off-boost power so I dont even need to touch boost to get around cars.
Idle is alittle rough, seeing as it DOES NOT have a IAC vavle. The car is sporting an Infinity Q45 throttle body, so there is no spot for a IAC valve. Although I did some research and already have a IAC valve that can kinda go inline with the setup, just have to weld a vacuum port onto the intercooler pipe right before the TB, and connect one vacuum port to the IAC and the other port on the IAC to the throttle body, just wire it in and start configuring the tune for the IAC to get it to idle perfectly. Its a tad bit of work but hey, its more than worth it!
Car gets perfect oil pressure, perfect fuel pressure and gets full boost by 4800rpm in 3rd. I will be switching over to a Shearer manifold, Full-race manifold, or SLS manifold with a Precision 6262 with a ported shroud and .63 a/r for a bit more of a powerful, streetable setup!
I jumped out the Evo scene because I was forced to after I was going around a long bend in the rain doing about 65 when the *** of my car decided to kick out (running Falken Azenis), I tried to correct it but then the car whipped in the opposite direction, causing to go in a full slide that locked the wheel and brakes. Put it right into a wall doing about 50. I walked away with a bruised knee and a soar back the next day. Airbags did NOT deploy. But whatever, **** happens and life goes on! And before ANYONE says I was an inexperienced driver and Im a dick for doing so, you are FAR wrong. Ive yet to be in an accident in the 5 years of my driving both my eclipse GSX (made 486awhp) and my evo (made 430awhp pump/meth stock turbo).
It is a pleasure sharing another one of my 4G63's to the 4G63 community! (And the 4B11's too! lol)

+1
But at the same time, I don't see people owns DSMs and Evos at the same time... Wonder Why?

LOL, I was actually in the process of building my 1g when I got the Evo. Its kinda hard to build a car while your financing one and having to pay full coverage insurance.....
Kinda glad Im out of that mortgage now....

Nice, that car looks like it's put together very nicely in every aspect in and out.
Those that do usually end up getting rid of one or the other (more often than not the dsm). Same powerplant, why keep both around. I still have my dsm (but it's a 420a not a 4g63) and I do have plans to get rid of it
