The Miata engine is pretty bullet proof...though I agree the performance can be lacking.
I was into Hondas before the a Evo. The B18C5 in my ITR and the B16 in my hatch are still two of my all-time favorite motors (though I recognize the k20 is better..just looks funny in older endings bays).

I had a '12 Civic SI for about 6 months back in 2015. Hated it, never drove it. Was so boring to drive. Sold it and got a truck...lol

K20/24, either way the k-series is super nice. I've already appreciated Honda's efficiency.

If I ever buy another compact like that for a daily, it's going to be a GTI. Or maybe the newer SI's are better with the turbo 1.5L..

A group I know of runs NCs for endurance races. They say all they need are wheel bearings. Maybe the engines are modified and they didn't mention that part. They beat the crap out of them, though.

Front wheel bearings from an RX-8 is a bolt on upgrade which my car has, but the rears require changing a ton of parts...

I got it thinking it would be a somewhat fun car to zip around in. Reality- more body roll than the F150 I replaced it with, and slower...lmao. Also the stereo sucked...

well they're reliable, although the NC1 (06-08) spins bearings rod bearings sometimes... they just don't make much power. I think the record for an NA 2.0 is like 213whp and thats with cams that idle at 1700 rpm. The 2.5's can make 190-200 without resorting to race only parts.

I drive like a grandma, but not surprised. I'd assume my car has no sway bars.
