Exhaust is ****ing awesome when rowing gears or blipping down a gear. Music to my ears.

Another 10 hour drive in the bag. Loving the seats. These are the most comfortable seats I have ever put my can on. Only stopped for gas twice. No numb-butt or back pain.

I want to comment and say those hating on this car because it is a V6 are complete idiots. I can say this, as I owned a 99 Cobra, a 2000 GT, and my sister and best friends have owned 4-6 V6s from the 1999-2004 era.

This V6 with the performance package would have given my modded 2000 GT a run, probably a drivers race. I had 3.73 gears, long tubes, intake, and a can tune.

I love this car, and for anyone with another dedicated speed machine, I think the new V6 Performance Pack is the perfect DD that won't numb your brain. I am very interested to see how the aftermarket takes off for the V6.

Aftermarket has noticed the v6. AM is making their own intake soon. Rumblings of SC and TC kits soon.

Damn, I have not updated in a while.

HIDs - check.
K/N filter panel - check.
Flowmaster Axle-back - check.
ECU Tuned - check.

After lots of research, talking to a handful of Mustang shops, I found American Muscle and Bama Tuning. They have a test bed A6 v6 they have been dyno testing, 1/4 testing, and working on new parts. Spent a good while talking tuning with them. Essentially, its much like the Cobb unit for the Evo. SCT handheld with 3 custom tunes (lifetime re-tunes if I add more parts too - score).

100% different car to drive. Throttle by wire has been sharpened. Response is sharp and more direct. Timing switch-over has been smoothed out some. Down low torque is butt-dyno there. And car pulls hard to redline. Come spring, a dyno day will confirm. I am hunting for ~300whp on a dynojet.

And another bonus, +2 mpg on the highway. Getting a solid 28-29 with my driving (not hyper-mile driving).

All good information Smike. If I could find a nice one with the performance package for around $25k I might have to jump on it. I want my IX first though.

Those mocking the V6 fail to notice that this car at least matches the power of the fastest Evos and STis we get in the states. And for $10k less, mind you.

Smile, what kind of city fuel economy are you seeing? And how big is the tank?

Totally agree.

16 gallon tank. Solid 28-29 mpg with 30 city (~45 mph) / 70 highway (75 mph).

Smike,

I know you've mentioned tuners offering force induction packages, would or have you considered one, turbocharging vs. supercharging? Are they going to centrifugal types?.

Shops still are tight lipped on what they are they are for sure developing in the SC realm.

I'd like to see a roots SC like what the 5.0 kits have been. Centrifugal SC could be it - Vortech and Procharger already do a 4.0l.

Turbo (or twin-turbo) would be pretty cool too.

Don't know how much psi the motor can take. Nor its internals. But I'd sure like to

Please forgive my oversight, but is the new motor direct injection? What about the exhaust manifolds tubular or cast?

Was, then decided to hold DI.

Casted exhaust manifolds.

Ah, you know I never really got a good motor pic. I can get that tonight.
