k20

i kno it sounds kinda strainge but i have alot of honda hoes as buddie and they all brag about the k20 so it go me looking at its specs and the engine dynos with 240hp at 8k+ revs where the 4b11 is at like 155hp then with the turbo pushing 21 lbs of boost the 4b11 is at 291. would i be able to use that same amount of boost on the k20 and would there be alot more power? idk im a mistubishi fanboy but if i can get more power out of the k20 the the 4b11 id go for it.

any comments?

k20 turbo'd cars will beat any mitsubishi formed(4g63t, 4g64, 4b11,etc) cars anyday. but would you be willing to trade in your reliability, safety, driveability, and comfort(not much of a difference in my opinion but still)? thats the question that you should ask yourself. just my 02

a K20A2 motor has 11:1 compression, great flowing head from the factory and roller rockers. I believe its the best N/A 4cyl out there. Boost it and you will have a great performer, but you just cant get any traction and thats where evos shine.

owning both it's simple... you will still have a swapped honda... or w.e. you trying to swap the k20 into... at the same time... that means THEFT...
where with the evo... you can drive it park and and have to pray when you come back it's still there...
also like they said reliability... plus to get that 240hp they did plenty of work... cause stock it's only like 200 to the crank...

I think he is talking about putting a k20 in his Evo. Terrible idea!!! Also a k20 wouldn't be able to handle the boost levels that the 4b11 can without a perfect tune. Compression is just too high. Stick with the 4b11, and build that. Or buy an RSX and ride the eff out.

I have built a couple k20's and they are a hell of a motor. I have a k20A2 in my civic and with just stage 2 cams and bolt ons I dynoed at 225 whp, the car only weights around 2600 lbs.

You will never get a K20 into an Evo. Even asking this question leads me to wonder about what the hell you are smoking.

that is the most pointless thing I have ever heard..... Those vehicles are also 2wd not awd not to mention a **** ton lighter. The k20 is a great motor! you can get some high hp numbers out of it but by no means is it a tq monster like the 4B11/4g63. If you have an evo and pull the motor in hopes of doing a k20 swap you should be taken out back and beat with a stick. Keep whats intended to be in the evo there, if you wanted a k20 you should have bought a new SI or an RSX.

Go for it man. I think it'll be sick, not to mention that it'll lighten up your evo (cast iron block compare to aluminum block). I would do the K24 thought. Good luck.
