The numbers are more impressive, but the shape isn't. That engine lost a little more than 25% of torque from peak torque to redline. When you've got so much power, it's probably not a big deal to lose a bit though.
To be clear, I wasn't impressed with the amount of power the BMW V8 put down. I was impressed with how it held such a flat torque plateau throughout the rev range. It was definitely shocking after getting used to looking at evo dynos.
