My lame DD

I really dont know why i'm posting this now... shouldve done it a while ago.

i needed a car to get back and forth to work after i came home from south america last year. i eventually got a 92 chrysler lebaron convertible for two grand... much to my chagrin i found out that it had the 6G72 SOHC 12v v-6.

im overseas now and i got an email from my daughter saying my car died and had to be towed back home. then got another email from my mom saying that the engine had seized up. (motor had an oil leak - used about a quart a week) asked my kid if there was oil in the motor and she said nope. (ughhhhhhhh )

anyways - the point of this is to ask.. i found a place that i can get a refurbished motor w/ a three year warranty for $850. Is there any place that can do like a stage 1 or stroker motor for me ??

ive searched but i havent had much luck. i've seen some stroker kits but they run about five grand.

anyone else have experience with the 6g7x ?

I would just get the refurbished replacement. I highly doubt there is any aftermarket for it. All the parts would have to be custom ($).

Swapping in a 2.2 Turbo out of an earlier LeBaron would be a option.

But if you are going through all that work, you might be better off buying a different DD. :-(

If the rest of the car is in good shape then $850 for an engine can be money better spent then trying to find a much more expensive replacement.

I will agree that paying any money to mod the engine is a waste.

Cheap. Fix it and get it running.
