Good luck!

Still have your old car?

Kept the evo. Just letting it sleep. The airbag recall has me a bit worried to drive it and I need to do some work on it, so for the moment it is on the back burner.

Thanks for posting up the video. It seems to hit the nail on the head. Lots of talk on FocusRS.org about this issue as well and why I plan to keep it stock though my warranty then have it welded for reinforcement if needed later down the line. Ford has been good about replacing the block for people who have the issue.

Realistically, this car is a fun DD for me and the evo will be the modded track car/Sunday driver.

Dead Hook also took a bunch of peoples money and went bankrupt, so take what they say with a grain of salt.

They are replacing engines for people who are untuned and a few that have been tuned surprisingly enough. It is a crap shoot if tuned though.

Unless they are one of the few who purchased a FRPP tune (weak but retains warranty) before they pulled the tune (not currently available for purchase).

Old, old, old news. Ford has had multiple casting updates since this problem appeared. If shopping the car check build dates. Cool hat.

The majority are happening between March and September of 2016 so far.

Mother****er...seems like the build dates are still in mid 2016 though. Only a handful reaching into 2017. Might just be time though. Oh well, I will love it till I have to have it fixed (if I do) then enjoy the new motor lol.

My friend's is 100% stock. That's why he's so pissed. He's about to lemon law it. The car has been in the shop four times and now the cluster is lighting up like a Christmas tree:

3 of those codes are related and might have been triggered from the same, single event. This is a perfect example of when a CEL that's too sensitive can be a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. It's good that the ecu is telling us which cylinder misfired (cyl 3) , when it misfired (during startup), and a possible reason why it misfired (poor starter performance, possibly a low battery?) But it's also bad that the customer will lose confidence in the car since it keeps showing problems.
