Exactly.

Yes, but some of us do actually use our cars for more than driving to work. If we want to theorize about how the Focus RS will handle track duty, this seems like a good place to do it.

Don't like the thread? There is always a different one just a click away. Maybe you can find one about how to get better mpg for your commute.

For what it's worth, everyone here except Robevo is basically on the same page - this is going to be a fun DD that will see some auto-x/light track duty. It's not a race car and it won't be a manufacturer backed rally car, so evaluating it as either of those things is pointless.

Then congratulations, you are in the 2%, with me. We still don't drive race cars.

I am not so sure.

The Focus RS may not see WRC time because of current group rules, but I suspect we will see at least one team operating a Focus RS in Rally America. http://www.rally-america.com/

Depends what your criteria is for determining what makes a race car I guess.
My evo was designed by Mitsubishi to be competitive in racing. I drive it on the track, competing against other driver's lap times. I certainly consider it a race car.

RS, SS, R/T, just badges to sell cars. This car looks like it will be a ton of fun. I don't see it ever being something I'd want to turn into a track nor rally car. I mean, the Caliber SRT-4 was an SRT, but....
That being said, I enjoy the debating of its potential. I love bench racing. If I can't be IN my car, I wanna be talking about them LOL.

With that logic, people would only be racing RS model Evos, base model RS Camaros, Sonic RS's, etc.

What that logic, you could say the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart is a rally car since it's called a Ralliart and that was the name of Mitsubishi's Motorsports division.

Please let's stop talking about rallying. Literally the only place that argument belongs here is in your bathroom mirror.

Evo RS are specifically made for rally, hence the lack of convenience parts etc. still wheels etc.

but this is the Ford Focus RS thread. and there is no logic behind it. it is what ford said and worked on.
bring in rally drivers to develop it, take rally experince and so tho form it and customize it etc. it is also not an opinion like yours. it also a fact.

looks to me lately i am the one from the beginning , defending the RS capabilities and possibilities . i think it will be more then razorlab or west side billy and amby thinks about this car.

looks like it anyway.

Press on guys.

Jesus tap dancing Christ, why is it so hard for this thread to not degrade into a racing circlejerk? The RS isn't a race car. The Evo isn't a race car. Both can be used for racing, but by that logic, I'm a pornstar because my dick can be used for ****ing.

The Evo X should be called a first gen Evo, since it's the first to use the 4B11T?
