Wow. I have a friend that ran 225s on a 16" wheel and it gripped. They handled around 250whp pretty well. Are you planning to never use the brakes?

I just don't see why a Miata needs that much tire.

Also, $1,800 wheels, on a $2k car. #priorities

Why a 17x10" wheel for a 255 tire? A 9" wheel can support up to a 265 tire and weighs less.

more like brake really hard. it'd be awesome to pull 1.5 braking g... not sure if these tires will get me there, but it'd be awesome.

not sure if I mentioned this here before, but my 215's are completely overwhelmed now that I have race pads (Raybestos ST43) when it comes to braking. there's also a small chance this will help with my pad knockback. these same brakes as I have, have been used on Miata's with 285 Hoosiers with know knockback. so my best theory (after eliminating everything else I can think of) is that my crap wheels vibrate/shake a little cause they can be balanced only so far. so the theory is better balanced wheel/tire will reduce/eliminate pad knockback... at least thats what I'm hoping. was also part of my justification for buying these wheels.

increased cornering capability is also nice

tires perform best when there's a little stretch to them so they sit tight on a wheel. both a 255 and 265 bulge a bit on a 9" wheel. its like tread squirm but worse. also a bulging tire will heat up/overheat faster cause there is more movement in the tire

rs3's do fine a 9.5. Don't need 10's unless you're gonna run a 255 NT01..

I ran 255 R-S3s on a 9.5" and they for perfect. There was just a slight bit of stretch, which was expected seeing how 265 is "usually" the preferred size. I'll be going back to those once my current tires are done.

So, on a 9.5" wheel, you would want a 245 NT01?

I agree, but the only 9.5's I could find with the right offset are Volk CE28's for $2800.

find me a decent light weight track worthy 9.5" wheel with the right offset that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and I'll cancel this order

pretty much... at least I'm lucky that s2k guys run the same kinda offsets, otherwise there'd be no wheels at all for this car

haha, to be honest its not the fender keeping me from running an aggressive offset, its how the car feels. everytime I put wheels on a car in the past where the offset was more than about 10-15mm off stock it made the car feel like sh*t driving it cause it throws off the scrub radius so much. I don't wanna do that to the Miata, how it drives is the most important part about it for me
