You should be able to find a nice used set of Volks for $1800.

Broseff, 6ULs from 949Racing. Specifically made for Miatas that are racing.

Just because a wheel can "support" a large tire, doesn't mean you will nearly get the same grip as with a wider wheel that can maximize the contact patch and stiffen the sidewall.

In the case of NA and NB Miatas and a 15x8 vs 15x9 wheel with a 225 section tire, the 15x9 will always be the faster around the track. This is packed up by 949Racing Supermiata track data.

I can definitely vouch for 949 6UL's. I just sold my final set (had 2) and I'm sad to see it go. For a cheap, lightweight track wheel that can take the abuse, there is nothing better.

I'm not big on used wheels for track use unless I know the history of the wheel. Wheels are a wear item... I've personally seen (in real life) a broken CE28 at the track from fatigue (spoke snapped, didn't cause an off or any other damage

Also finding a set with the size and offset I want would take forever...

They do, and their offset is 2mm less aggressive at +52. People run a 3mm spacer with that so they can get an aggressive alignment (-2.5) and not rub on the coilover. No spacer is better in my book and I think the Advans look better. Only advantage of the 6UL is the price

And they don't make a 9.5 which is really the ideal size for a 255 and what I said I'd cancel my order for

I'd rather get a set of 6ULs and save $1000 or so for tires but it's your decision.

You have 2mm or less inboard wiggle room? Dang, that's close.

more of safety factor... its not a mcpherson strut, its double wishbone, so I gain a lot of camber on compression. and that closes the gap on the inside

The 6ULs would probably be easier to resell to the Miata community if/when you upgrade to a new track car.

Naw, these will be easy to sell to the s2k crowd, a lot easier than 17x10's to Miata guys

Most people on Miataturbo.net are running 15x10's on their NC track cars, so it very much wouldn't be difficult to sell them. The 6UL's in decent condition always have high demand. I just sold a set yesterday. I listed it yesterday and I had 4 private messages within 2 hours of posting on the forum.

949 seems to be the go-to wheel for Miatas. I really liked them

on NC? I've never seen an NC on 15" wheels... and if you meant 17x10, there are very few of those, the only one I could find was Brian Goodwin, and there's a guy in portland running 18x11's with 295's on it.

if you know most people running 17x10's on NC's can you show me? I'd wanna pick their brain on alignments and ride heights and stuff
