Selling my evo 8 for lexus is300
The Lexus is the best $30,000 car with $20,000 car performance. I've a friend with an IS300. He just can't hang on any road, no matter how straight it is. I think the Mazda is a better blend of styling, luxury, and performance.
I heard the IS is a glorified Corolla. Well, the way I see it, if you are willing to get rid of one of the best performing cars on the road, that some people dream about driving and owning, then you didn't deserve it. Get the crappy IS.

if u havn second,third thoughts that the car aint for you..you bought the wrong car.. n the car aint ment for you. if your a real big mitsubishi fan or ralliart fan like me.. you stick with dsm. and rally that with style and finesse..but if aaint. then ...shes not for u buddy..
How can u compare an Evo to a Lexus? Its like comparing bananas and pineapples.
How can u compare an S4 to an EVO and say the EVO can stay right with it? The EVO will outrun any S4 anyday (stock for stock) and outhandle it as well!
I think the best thing for you right now is to decide what you want...
Safety = EVO
Luxury/Status = Lexus
Comfort = Lexus
Handling = EVO
Performance = EVO
Fuel Economy = Lexus
Warranty = Lexus
Eyeballs = EVO
Value for money = depends on whether you value performance or comfort
Internal gimmicks = Lexus
SuperCar Eater = EVO
You decide what you want, pick and you'll know your answer..

I have both the IS and the Evo. I happen to like my IS VERY much. It's an awesome daily driver. The only thing it really needs is more power. The handling difference will only show up at the track, and the suspension won't beat you up. With equal tires, the IS would keep up w/ the Evo in an autoX. On a road course............
The build quality can't be compared. There's a 'solidness' about the IS that is totally lacking w/ the Evo. Whoever said that the Evo is safer must be smoking crack.
I seriously considered trading the IS for the G35 6spd sedan, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. There's a feeling of 'cheapness' when you sit in the driver's seat. The materials are inferior and it doesn't feel as 'solid'. The seat controls are the most rediculous things I've seen. (heck, that's what stopped me from getting an FX45)
Both the IS and the G are going to be redesigned for next year. The IS will be undergo a major revision, while the G will have its 'cheapness' addressed w/ a new interior.
Bottom line, you'll be happy w/ the IS. Get one used, though.

You're assuming that this person wants a 2-dr. Both the Evo and the IS are 4-drs, so the G35 sedan is what should be considered.

Cracks me up how Lancer/Evo owners are commenting on the cheapness of the IS300. (talk about people in glass houses)
Its sad when even a great car like the IS300 doest gain any respect in a car community. Honestly, look past the fact you own a Mitsu and be able to appreciate other companies designs. Regarding performance? The IS is the Altezza in Japan, and the suspension was calibrated on the IS to better suit Lexus buyers. Want a killer handling car, a call to Hotchkis is all you need. Either way, Ill take the IS in a heartbeat over my car......
