you can get the used M3Z the 2 door small one for a dam good price and they handle really good on tracks. i belong to a NSX club and i went in the guy stock car with racing slicks and that thing can handle it own ...very nice car and fast

my friend got a stick is300(idon't know which you plan on getting)
it has a feature known as cdd or something. it will hold your clutch down if you launch in a speedy way or something. by doing this. it burns your clutch, he traded it for an auto because of this. do research before you buy it

They have NEVER been one to offer some big performance car, and until the hybrid-revolution of 05 and 06 hit, there still wont be. But when that happens; you'll be changing your tune. But the difference will be, 99% of you here badmouthing the Lexus name, will not be able to afford one. Hell most of you cant afford one now.
I get sick of the car bashing. I really want an EVO really bad; not because its better than my current car (far from it actually), but because its a different change for me. But you guys are seriously ruining it; calling the IS300 a BMW-wannabe or Lexus as a poseur brand. You guys are so up on BMW commercials huh? Do a little research on the part of the industry you do not see and you will change your opinion. Just give it a chance.
The IS300 is slow stock; my car when it was stock would beat one without much issue. And my car is a bit older
But the IS300 has a superior motor to the 4g63 sad to say. It is built stronger even in NA form (even with the weaker rods on the VVTI 2jz), its only drawback is the transmission. Which the EVO cant speak much about that seeing as how it has a Mitsu AWD setup; one of the weakest (internally) setups out there.
IS300s for performance aspects should be turbocharged.
If the original poster of this flamebait thread was wanting a luxury car or something, it'd be understandable. But an NA IS300 in any comparison of stock performance to the EVO is laughable. Now if you toss in a set of coilovers or mildly upgraded suspension; and a non-intercooled turbokit, which can be had for MUCH less than $5000 nowadays(get with the times people), you can have a used IS300 handling just as well and outaccelerating EVOs, upgraded turbo EVOs too, especially on race gas. As for braking, I'm not sure if the Supra brakes will work on the IS chassis or not, I know they work on my SC chassis no problem; but they are just as good or better than the EVO brakes.
Anyways, my point is, dont bash a car for its stock performance. A SupraTT stock will outrun a stock EVO on a roll, but do you see me bashing the EVO for being a crappy poseur car to the Supra? no.

And the funny part is, Jaguar and Mercedes have gone down in quality so much that it's incredible. Mercedes cars in the past were you buy it and it's for life, while these days according to Consumer reports and JD Power got one of the worst reliabily grades. Hell, I used to own an Accord and people were selling their C and E class Mercedes and buying an Accord because they were tired of having the car more in the shop than driving it.

Well...In my opinion...I used to own an IS300....Had intake..exhaust.....S-AFC...and the c-west body kit.....To tell you straight...I love both cars...I really dont' think you can go wrong either way....But If i could ahve my old car back..I would...I lost it in a car accident...
Don't get me wrong..I love the Evo...that i have now....But to me...A turbo'ed IS300 is amazing....Nuff said on that....
Definatly Test drive the IS300..then choose..

If you want a foo foo car just put a pillow on your Recaro Seat and while your at it why don't you buy a remote controled trunk opener for all those groceries and how bout take out the engine and puting an ES engine in it That should help with the "jerky" acceleration problems you might be having.
