That would not be good for the current aftermarket industry.

I don't think it has to pass. EPA can do it alone I guess.

Yea. There is no "pass". The EPA is free to enact laws under it "scope". Which is bull****.

That’s the exact point of this set of proposed regulations. The title of these regulations say “Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Fuel Efficiency Standards for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Engines and Vehicles— Phase 2.” Your sports car is a light duty vehicle and not covered, but commercial trucks (and possibly some coal rollers) are covered.

The title means little compared to the content, right from page 5:

"The standards
proposed here (referred to as Phase 2)
would build on the light-duty vehicle
standards
spanning model years 2011 to
2025 and on the initial phase of
standards (referred to as Phase 1) for
new medium and heavy-duty vehicles
(MDVs and HDVs) and engines in model
years 2014 to 2018."

News flash

This just in!

This might be a good sign.

http://news.yahoo.com/u-supreme-cour...--finance.html

The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday delivered a major blow to President Barack Obama by blocking federal regulations to curb carbon dioxide emissions from power plants, the centerpiece of his administration's strategy to combat climate change.

On a 5-4 vote, the court granted a request made by 27 states and various companies and business groups to block the administration's Clean Power Plan. The move means the regulations will not be in effect while litigation continues over whether their legality.

The brief order from the justices said that the regulations would be on hold until the legal challenge is completed. The court's five conservatives all voted to block the rule. The order noted that the four liberals would have denied the application.

A U.S. appeals court in Washington had turned away a similar request on Jan. 21.

The states, led by coal producer West Virginia and oil producer Texas, and several major business groups in October launched the legal challenges seeking to block the Obama administration's plan.

More than a dozen other states and the National League of Cities, which represents more than 19,000 U.S. cities, filed court papers backing the Environmental Protection Agency's rule.

The appeals court still must hear oral arguments on June 2 and decide whether the regulations are lawful.

Coal is bad, racing is good.

What's funny is that people in these discussions about the EPA think it's like some communist entity, while it's effects are actually entirely corporatist. Political discourse is really twisted in the US.

The idea that only expensive supercars should be allowed to be fast, while 4 cylinder commoners like yourselves don't deserve speed, is corporatist. However, running ethanol to feed a watermelon sized turbo in your economy sedan is authentic, real deal, classwar communism. If your 4 banger runs 10s like a Lamborghini then you're racin' for communism, brother.

That's right, I just called David Buschur a communist, and a good one at that.

Well hopefully when this sorta thing does pass, like it eventually will, we will all be on our deathbeds or gone.

By then the kids won't even care anymore, they're just going to be vaping about pokemon holograms or whatever.

That Evo you passed down? It's basically gonna be grandpa's crazy **** flag that he kept in the cellar all those years. They'll call the authorities and pay fines to dispose of it.

I'm glad my car is an '06, then, and that I like older/classic cars...Which mine would be by the time any of this saw fruition.
I want to know what the tree huggers would do if all emissions were eradicated and global warming still went along, doing it's thing. Probably find something else to blame, because no WAY could their theory be wrong LOL.
