Voted SCC's 2003 car of the year and outperforms the Lancer in every way. It's a neon in looks alone.

It'll destroy any other new car in its price range. I just don't see how anyone could hate on this car aside from appearance.

 

Exactly. I'm not a fan of the styling, but you cant get stats like that for under $20,000 (that is, unless you get the neon... that was kinda my point).

 

Yeah it's a neon in name alone, that is one good performance car for that price. Not to mention the fact that mopar is offering performance upgrades for the car.

 

the only thing the SRT-4 is missing is a LSD, but I hear Quafe already has one in the works. MB/Mopar has been making rumblings about getting into Prorally, at least at the SCCA level here in the states... don't be to surprised to see a AWD SRT-4 in a model year or two.

 

Wowwwww...215hp @14 psi...thats garbage,granted it's a great price for a turbo'd Ride but it's still ugly,bulky and handle's like a derailed Train...I've owned a Neon, and I liked it but I'm sorry the car was made to break- down.Just My Opinion Though!

They call it 215, it dynos at 230. It's definately not garbage.

 

i guess that is calling the kettle black.....but when i think of a neon i just think of it's history. the lancer history is good, but i know the US lancer is only cosmetically close to those evo's. i just don't like neons i guees, even if they have 215hp.

 

first drivers review I have seen - it's from the former i-club.
the SRT-4 seems like a nice little car, too bad it's fwd and lacking a LSD (which I am sure can be fixed real soon)

Saw the srt4 yesterday at the auto show in chit-town....people complaining about the evo interior will have something new to complain about....that interior flat out sucks!!! Sure I'll give it props for being as fast as it is for 20 grand....but it for one is still a neon....two it looks like it should be on 4x4 magazine(ride height) and three...lol....Hurst shift knob!!!!LOL! I am sorry but I am way moer than willing to spend 10 grand more and get AWD and a proven engine...and a bulletproof tranny. The value for that 10 grand difference is there for me anyway...theis car will be bought up by kids that can't control them and will end up getting torn up. But, hey what do I care.....EVO! EVO! EVO! EVO!
