Crossmember out, the whole 9..<br /><br />I've never built a engine but I'm doing it now.<br />I don't mind learning so that I can help myself and others in general.<br />Besides I don't have money like that to pay dealership or Evo shop, so I kinda didn't have a choice.<br />The only tools I have are a 300 piece craftsman set, a snap on torque wrench, 4 floor Jack's, and a lot of random pieces of wood !<br /><br />Just like life, I'll figure it out..

Why did you take the cross member out? Or do you mean the brace with the front engine mount?

What in heck is that?

The part I'm holding is the throttle plate, I look3d at a post you made earlier today about the carbon that's supposed to be behind it

 

Oh, it's not carbon. It's a sealant. It should be on the back of the throttle plate and inside of the TB. If you remove it, you will get a ton of air passing through and the car will have a tough time idling correctly.
Sorry, It was hard to see the pic while driving LOL. I can see it better now. And yes: clean on both sides is not good.

 

So you removed the engine mount/brace, not the cross member/sub frame, right?

 

I had to remove every thing because I dropped the engine from the bottom

 

Same here, but didn't drop the subframe. I pulled the radiator, instead.
