Yup, the data strongly suggests that diesel, diesel-hybrids and gas-hybrids are the future transition for alternative fuels.
Hydrogen is so far off... the containment leakage is about 20% which means ozone depletion.
However, the weakness for both diesel and hydrogen in the U.S. is lack of infrastructure... and for diesel, the lack of refinement facilities.
U.S. is far behind.
