I would not get an Exedy Twin for DD driving. I went through an Exedy and a rebuild in less then 8 months. I now have an ACT 6 puck which is perfect.

The reason i hate the twin disc is when it goes bad its like "BAM!!!!" bad. no signs of it going bad or anything else. It just locks you out of gear out of nowhere.

The single discs will at least slip and let you know there going bad. still letting you drive it off and get the work needed.

I got stuck on the side of the road on both situations of the twin disc. I F#$%d up my 3rd gear because i forced it into a gear to get home. There goes my Shep tranny

As for getting married for the BAH.. not a good idea.. I thought it was great till now. You pay out the *** for a lawer to do all the paperwork and get everything situated. Then having to deal with things for so long makes me wish i never did do it.

But hey it was all cool till now. But still not worth it.

 

If your going to race your car, dont get the exedy twin. I had one put in, in July and with some upgrades, taking me to about 420hp the clutch was slipping at the track on like 5 passes. If anything go with the triple. Also the lockout could have been something with the Exedys, i forget what its call but thats why STM came out with the little pin thing to prevent it.

 

It is the spring clip we replaced them three times on EVOvin's car...LOL But the only people that are slipping on a Exedy was a guy with the tripple. I have a few friends that love the twin. So i am lost haha. When my street disc go's out i guess i will have to see what big thing on the market is then. I am only going for a solid 500AWHP car no meth. So i dont need the biggest and baddest clutch on the market. My car is my DD and weekend warrior all wrapped up in one that is why i love my EVO!

 

yea i believe its the spring. its a clip that stops it from popping off. A exedy twin will not hold 500awhp. its only rated to 450. and i question that since i dynoed at 407 and it slipped on me. i will be dd a exedy triple, it feels like the twin so i am impressed.

 

so the supposed oem banjo bolt from autocenter didnt even fit. sad. even after i emailed them saying not to send it and to cancel my order they still sent it. the one from stm fit but it seemed the eye holes for oil to flow thru were small but it seems to work. and found out that you need both the washers for it or else, leakage. now to drive it to base and throw the tires on. too bad i donno how to use the tire machine -.-

 

so how did it go troy ill catch all you guys in a few weeks without my evo. its going to STM for another overhaul. This time its being made into pretty much a race car with only weekend and very nice weather driving when i get it back.

On another note, if anyone knows anyone selling a diesel or big engine truck let me know asap.

I just have a very supportive GF who wants me happy and told me to go for what i like, i mean she loves being at the races with me and loves watching them. So I am just gonna convert my baby into a race car and then when i get out of the military in a year i can go to more races and enjoy it so much more. Just a dream of mine to race and all that for years now and meeting the STM crew made me realize i can do it.

Some day i will own another EVO to dd again.

 

Almost ****ed up a tire. Lol. I'm afraid to go get an estimate for the piston ring if that is in fact what's wrong. If its what I'm thinking, which is like 1500 bucks, it'll be sittin at the shop for bout 2 months with me trying to pay it off.

 

you better get it done before you do more damage to your engine.
