Illegal Tint & Unapproved Exhaust?
I remember seeing a thread on here about the Virginia law regarding aftermarket exhausts.
The wording goes something like the aftermarket exhaust must be original or similar to the original equipment. Something like that.
Anyway, There is no part of the law that dictates what it means exactly for an aftermarket exhaust to be similar to the original, so you might be able to get it thrown out by saying that the cop's ruling is completely objective and that there is no real evidence that the exhaust is any different than the original, other than maybe the "magnaflow" all over the muffler, haha.
If anything though, just go to an exhaust shop and get them to rig you up one thats like stock and then present the papers saying you got it fixed on your court date. Either way, you'll still have to pay courtfines. :/

Just go to court....not sure how they can enforce tint and exhaust laws for out of state vehicles. I went to school in Tn and had several friends visit the NOVA area with 5% tint and exhaust cutout and nothing happened.
Screw the Romans-
The thing that get me is that the Police here there or anywhere have this little thing called probable cause. Which means that if they think something is amiss, they can pull you over and search the car. Radar is illegal there so if you see a cop and then slow down they can pull you and search the car because they think you have a radar detector but oh look at this, you have a cone air filter and oh what's with the soda can exhaust, and that's illegal here's your ticket.
Same in SC, my cousin and I were riding in Myrtle Beach and they have a no cruising law. We left our hotel but he forgot his wallet so he turned around to go get it and an officer in a golf cart pulled us for cruising(probable cause). When we pulled over his lowrider truck got stuck on, i am not making this up, the strongest Coca Cola can ever constructed. They searched the car and when they found nothing, He said why were we going so slow on the strip, we said we can only go as fast as the car ahead of us. He threatened to take us to jail and made everyone stop and laugh at us for at least a half hour and then gave us several tickets. We had to push the truck off the soda can and then went home. We stayed in the hotel all night and then paid our fees and went home the next day.
Haters are everywhere reagardless of what you drive

I think I will become an officer and start targeting Domestics and Harleys....not sure how any state can justify exhaust being "Too Loud" with harleys riding around. When I got pulled over for exhaust..the officer said the samething..it is too loud...well then 3 harleys rolled by...He just looked at me and laughed....gave me a warning.
some people get away with that tint and exhaust stuff, it really depends on the cop and sometimes the time of month.
as cliche as it sounds, in virginia beach at least in my area, the beginning and end of the month are the most times youre liable to get a ticket
