Evo SE with 280 HKS cams versus Evo IX, running stock cams and the boost spiked. Same HP, but a good difference in the shape of the boost curves and the torque numbers. The graph is hard to read, but I labeled all of the lines.

looking at the torqe curve it looks like the se had higher boost spike than the none se model but looking at your boost level it seems lower. hmmm did you guys check the map sensor on your dyno?

As I've said on DC EVO CLUB, and I quote:

"No scientific evidence, I am only speculating, something that I've suspected from the first time but became more apparent recently. They feel alot stronger on the street than a regular nine. If I had a stock nine and an SE we could do a side-by-side and I can almost guarantee higher #'s on the SE."

I am as curious about this as the next guy who posts in this thread, it is my suspicion that something is indeed different about them - I would love nothing more than to have two stock Evo IX's (SE / Regular) side by side to do a full on comparison, stock for stock, than tuned. If anyone wants to take me up on it - we'll dyno & tune for free and post the results. I am either right, or the "butt dyno" is lying.

I wish you were this curious WHEN I WAS STOCK! lol j.k I'm sure I know 2 people who would love to get in on this. For the SE do you want it to be a regular SE and MR SE or doesn't it matter

i would think you would want to compare a 9 GSR SE to a 9 GSR and a MR SE to a MR. That way you can take the gearing out of the equation

I aim to break the SE curse with my MR when I get my cams!

Should be sometime in January though.

If AMS wants to test out some HKS cams on my IX MR I wouldn't mind.

Wheel size might make a difference too if you want to get more technical. 17's vs 18's
