You should expect nothing but the finest at such a FINE event! the car show will be on the grass, domestics together and imports together ( for ease of judging ), the Import racers will be lined up along one side of the "entry road" and the Domestics on the other side. These will be Row 1 of the "car-show", with the cars behind will be show only. that way, when one of the race groups are called, their next to the access road, so they can get to their starting positions quicker, and can return to the "show" group and park next to the access road again. confused? you wont be once you get there. the further break down is: the lancer group is together, and the unlimiteds are also together etc... I am going to see if we can get the "groups" on page 9 in a group photo in front of an old "war-bird" for a keepsake photo. There will be vendors there, they call everyday now, and there will be alot of crotch rockets there also.. Remember, this is a family show, not a drunken biker rally!!!!!!!!!! There will be lots of kids there it is a fun FAMILY event! Anyone causing a ruckus will be asked to leave, or have the escort by the local PD. Remember to bring your lawn-chairs to sit on, and helmets to put on!

The airport is NOT going to be closed, the race on the 400 ftX600 ft track is a ramp to park planes, they will be removed from there for the day! the area mentioned for the "track" is for racing only, not one we share with the car-show! I am still working on the airstrip to rip off our 0-100-0, we may have a window to run in where the traffic is deverted to another runway! we'll see. There might be some Indy drivers there also, as this airport is where they fly into, you know about the month of may and the Indy 500! Here is the list of events, possibly changed from page 1 !

1. "road course" 7 laps/ 10 minutes per car?( exacts on this will be known by next week!)

2. 0-100-0 MPH ( timed) I will get 3 events out of 1 run:

3. 0-100 MPH (timed)

4. 0-100-0 MPH (Total distance!)

Here is some more random thoughts:
On April 30th, I am meeting the Documentary film crew at the airport to find great camera locations. This is the time I will need to meet with the "helpers", you know who you are! I will give you the time later, I did buy 35 BRIGHT flourescent green shirts that say "WINGER" EVENT STAFF on the back, and mine is the same color and says "SMOKEDMUSTANG" on the back, so you can find me in the crowd. I need details(groups) for: the film crew, help the SCCA people set up, Judges for the car show, cooks trophy girls etc. MOST positions are full, but if you can spare a few hands (not on the trophy girls) let me know!

You can rub one of the models down, My mother-in-law, she is the trophy girl for the antique cars, I hope she doesnt wear that checkered-flag thong! If you rub her "right", she might throw in her teeth and give you a big kiss!!!!!!! Talk about benefits from being a "helper"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking into getting an in-car mount set up for some in car vid (like the setup used by theJang in his video: http://www.nepthys.com/artofrally/JA...practice01.wmv large vid.....if you don't have broadband, don't bother).

Maybe we can transfer the mount to other cars (simple tripod setup) to get various in-car cam shots. I will be taping all day.....so get them cars detailed and the models lubed up (this means YOU TeamAccolade)!!!

 

i will... kevin how about a kiddy pool and a bunch of KY for the models to wrestle in after the show???

Are there only going to be 3 Ralliarts competing, and 3 OZ's??? Otter....I think you are the odds on favorite to take the class since my car is completely stock (unless I can flat outdrive you, which I doubt). Not entirely sure how the OZ's can match up engine-wise, but I could be wrong. I'm not sure who is the 04 Silver Ralliart???

Honestly, I've never driven an autoX course, so I have no idea how I'd do. Oddly enough, the biggest helping mod will probably be that $60 tie bar I have on back. Less understeer is good. I'm going to try to fill my front motor mount this coming week to help me out in the 0-100-0.

Engine-wise, unless there's a turbo in there, OZs won't touch you. However, with a good driver, it's been proven that OZ's can do really well in autoX, so you'll have to watch out for that.

 

I have never run an autoX course, either......maybe we can learn together!

Thought the biggest help might be your OEM mesh grill. Mine will be my tinted windows.

 

Dunno, the eyelids that I won last week should be on by then, and they're worth more HP-wise than a mesh grill.

Helmet showed up today, and I'm willing to share with some people as long as you have a massive head like I do (XL).

More random thoughts:
When I say "random thoughts", I am putting ideas down, this is not The way its going to be, but close. The final rules will be posted soon.

To determine the Champion, the car must have blistering speed/awesome stopping abilities, and of course, be able to turn. To better "weigh" the challenges, I will implement a point system. The limit on the cars is probably 60 ( 30 import/30 Domestic), in the "road-course" the lowest time gets 30 points, 2nd lowest 29 etc, last is 1 point. the top 15 or 20 in each class get to run for the 0-100-0MPH, and the quickest time gets 30 pts, second lowest gets 29 pts, etc. that way, you can "bobble" in the road course, but can still win it all in the 0-100-0MPH. Since this event wont take as long as the road-course, All cars can run this, but only the top 15 or 20 from each class will actually be "gunning" for the CHAMPIONSHIP. If you read back a bit, there are 3 events for this one run, but only the total 0-100-0 will count for the point system to determine the winner! I do have individual trophies for the other events in this event. Its early, I will have to write back later.
