What are the odds of the average guy actually being selected to compete in this event? I mean 70 cars sounds like alot but we have twice that many attending lesser events here in the midwest. With people like Buschur and AMS attending what chance does the little guy have at a competing? I mean if registration opens in Jan.....does this mean if you register you are guaranteed to race?
The reason I ask is because I'm sure there are some home garage modified EVO's with a lot less bling than others but with arseloads of track time to level the playing field.
If I wanted to compete what is the likelyhood of actually being one of the 70 imports?

The open registration is because there will be hundreds of people signing up, and in all fairness, we have to look em all over. There will Be Lotuses,NSX's,Noble M12's, and Bushur, hopefully AMS and the like.70 IS alot of cars, and it isn't the big HP cars I will be looking for, as they will help our "team" in only 1 event, the drag, what about the rest of the events (6)? This will be a well matched team, and NOBODY will be excluded from consideration. The EVO's and STI's will help our team significantly! Just register! This event is NOT for someone to show up and do the drags only, or autox only, they have to COMPETE in ALL events. 3 chances per event, but they can waive the other 2 attempts if they want to. There is NO trailer queens, or slicked open wheelers allowed.
I think the intention is to include a nice variety of import and domestics, and have a nice mix of everyday Joe cars to a few "exotics" that you don't see everyday.
If it makes you feel better, Jeff_Jeske, I ran last year with a BONE STOCK Ralliart and held my own in my class. Overall I didn't expect too much, but I did halfway decent there too. (There were 40-50 total cars last year.....and that seemed like A LOT!). So sign up!!!

So, let me get this straight. Registration doesn't get you into the event? The organizers choose who they want to participate? That's a major turnoff. Sounds like the American Touge event all over again (popularity contest). I just stick to local autocrosses where they can handle 150+ entrants and let anyone in who can pass tech inspection.
