Help... bosst is too low

I live in Colorado(5500 ft abvove sea level) and I just hooked a boost gauge to my car and it is boosting way low. I thought it would boost lower than stock because of the elevation, but not 6-8psi less...

Background:
Stock Evo VIII
32000 miles

First gear: 11 psi.
Second gear: 12-13.
third gear: 13, tapers to 11 at 6800rpms.

Im going to go try and tighen the intercooler pipes and borrow a friends boost gauge.

Sounds like you're runnin on waste gate pressure to me. Check all your boost lines to make sure everything's the way it's supposed to be?

you are on wastegate pressure. you either have a BIG leak or you installed it incorrectly. did you remove the boost pills?

I got a different boost gauge in there now and it holds about 17. I couldn't believe it, the boost gauge was off.

The funny thing is that i got the boost gauge from my buddy with an All-Trac(toyota's DSM). long story short... he blew a head gasket because he tuned for what he thought was 14 psi, when it was really about 19.

Thanks for the replys...

One more question: I just ran my car at the local track(Bandimere Speedway) and my best i trap was 95.6mph. Does this sound right for my car at this elevaton?

Has anybody reading this ran a stock evo8/9 at Bandimere? or at a similar elevation(5800+)?

Scott
