own a FACTORY 05 ssl, live in rockford, il. just got my clutch changed to a cerametallic exedy single disk clutch. broke it in with 500 miles. then now driving spirited, actually yea i drive it hard from a lauch at times, but never just dump it. it sounds like a semi. it whines really bad, and not just down low when normal driving. when letting off the gas w/ clutch engaged its normlish but as soon as i go for the gas even a slight tap, that noise is soo loud. it DOESNT sound like what people describe as the transfer case. it sounds like its something grinding or rattling loose. i can feel it vibrate with my foot on the dead pedal. power still holds when i run to redline. another thing is my service engine light is on, checked at autozone and "EGR valve flow" is the error. and supposedly its black smoke out the exhaust. im wondering where you guys think to bring my car to and figure wtf is going on and what i need to make it fresh again. how much do u think it would be for a full check to be done. im so upset my car is running now. thanks
I had to get my transfercase replaced recently, and that is the exact way it sounded. Does it do it both in and out of gear? Mine did it regardless of whether or not it was in gear. One of the bearings failed.

ah that was you? i saw that one. i was looking forward to a good run too. one of the guys asked you are you running stock boost and you said "no 29psi." they were like damn. then right when you attempted to take off the car didnt move. sucks.

see i dont think its the t-case. is just as loud in second as it is in sixth. at low RPM its not too present but at higher rpm its pronounced. and when not in gear you dont hear it. when in gear and either on the gas or off, it sounds and it rattles. its not just a whine noise its whine and rattle and loud rattle.
