Just got off the phone with works, they said that they are not taking deposits as everything is going through N10S?? FWIW the guy I talked to said he was a developer and not involved in the sales side. Either way, there seems to be some confusion as to how this is going to be handled.

I'm all about barbequeing. Does the shop have one? If not I can just grab some food on the way.

Slt...and the rest. I was traveling to Chicago today, and based on info from slt(not being able to get through to anyone at Works yesterday), made a call into Works this afternoon to express my concerns. The Works employee I spoke with, Pete, immediately mentioned your name Steve, and then said that he had told you to go back through me to handle the gb.

I told him this was not correct, and explained the way the deal was supposed to be set-up, and that I had confirmed this with David and Gavin both. He apologized and mentioned that he was normally just involved in the engineering and technical side and admitted not knowing anything abouth the midwest/St.Louis gb and Dyno day.

I have since sent info to Rifkin at Works expressing my concern that this be effort be handled as discussed. The last thing I want is this kind of thing creating uncertainty, and end-up screwing things up for the Gb and dyno day, with people losing trust in the credibility of this deal.

I fully expect that it will be back on track tomorrow, and having talked with Pete, know that it was just a set of innocent circumstances.

Do know this folks. I have put a major amount of personal time trying to get this thing set-up, and the last thing I want is to see it fall apart. If anyone has had any issues, or problems with ordering, let me know like slt did. I will do whatever I can to get things smoothed-out.. .

Thanks for your patience folks, and keep the faith, as we are getting close to hearing more about the boost control re-flash soon!

Compjoc and slt....Ron @ Axis says we can have a barbecue on-site, so maybe we can begin to discuss the food/drink effort for the dyno day and decide where we can get a grill from, and what kind of food and drinks to plan for. Or we could do the fast food thing and have a cooler with bevrages on site? I am open either way, and just haven't listed-out the costs and logistics of either option yet.

Honestly I am in for either one but the fast food thing might just be easier, Thanks for keeping us informed and for dedicating your personal time N10S.

Maybe at lunch we can all just roll out and go to a place to eat. You know so it's more like a gtg.

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to set the record straight and let everyone know that despite any confusion earlier, we are absolutely committed to the GB and expect that we’ll get to meet most of you in person in the coming weeks.

The details of the GB are still exactly the same as described in beginning of this thread by N10S (thanks N10S!), so all of you who are certain you can be there, please give us a call (415.641.9675) so we can take your pre-order info.

Also, I know many of you are anxious to get more details on the upcoming Brain Flash release, but as I’ve told everyone in the other forums, we’ll have some info for you soon, so hang in there.

Thanks,

Rifkin

If we BBQ, we definately need a grill or something, we'll be in a business area. I'm not sure if a BBQ pit will fit in an Evo heh.

I thought the hood vent on our evos was designed for grilling???

Turbopoo, can you name some of the restaurants nearby? Is there a Hooter's or a Show-Me's over there?

I second that suggestion! A hooters or some other sort of resturant would be cool.

Two trains of thought on the food options

1) Food on-site means more time dedicated to the dyno activities, but also means we have to find a good cook, and figure out the logistics of getting a grill, coolers, and food and drink.

2) Food off-site is easy because each person can do whatever they want, and there are no logistics to juggle regarding on-site food preparation etc....... .

Turbopooh2000 - It sounds like you know the area well, so maybe a listing of restaurants/fast food places, etc....would help us decide.

Once we know whats available around there, we can then take a vote and see which way it goes. We could always do morning dyno sessions, then a lunch break for say an hour, then back for an afternoon session to wrap up the remainder of the day.

I am open either way, but can't cook worth a lick, so if we opt to do the on-site we will need some volunteers that can help with those tasks.

Just got off of the phone with Works and gave them CC info. Talked with Laura and she mentioned that only 3 people have called so far for our group buy. We need at least 10 people for them to do the reflash on site, so if you agreed to getting the reflash earlier in the post please contact Works and give them your 25% deposit.

kcevo, slt, and compjoc- Thanks for confirming your deposit! Again, nothing will be run against the card until you actually receive product, its just for pre-approval purposes at this point.

It does help us continue to firm things up further as far as commitment though, so thanks for the follow-through! After we get the details on the new re-flash, I am betting that we will also see additonal folks beyond the current list jump on, so lets keep a positive attitude on this one and keep the momentum as high as possible.

Thanks!
