My Evo's in the shop

I miss my car. I haven't driven my car for a day now and it won't be ready 'til tomorrow night. I can't wait! I was at the shop looking at the stuff being done and I must say, quality work! I'm so excited! I'm going to go dyno the car soon.

Hell, my car has been in the shop for over 2 months now. Take a look at my "repair update" thread. I should have it back by mid next week though!

I had my gauges, AFR, and EVC installed. 20 PSI is awesome! Better pulls! I also had the stereo relocated to the bottom, which I feel is a lot better because now the buttons are closer to my fingers. Gauges are in the stock stereo location. I also had my suspension adjusted. Apparently, there was quite a bit of sagging so the springs were compressed too much (no travel) and made the ride too harsh for city driving. I had the car raised, but kept the shock settings. Now the car rides smoother. I had the front raised a bit because the car's nose was diving. I'll be bringing the car in for an alignment because I can tell that I lost a bit of camber when the car was raised.

I would've done these things myself, but considering I work 6 days a week now, I have no time.

Next...HKS GT TURBO!!!

I'm going to try and REMEMBER to take pictures of the new stuff. So far, here's a list of the things I've done for the car...

1. Exedy Hyper Single Clutch
2. HKS Super AFR
3. HKS EVC V
4. HKS Type-0 Turbo Timer w/ harness
5. JIC FLT-A2 Coilovers
6. Omori 52 mm Gauges (boost, EGT *not hooked yet*, & oil temperature) w/ P105 din panel
7. EVO 7 JDM rear lamps
8. Relocated stereo to bottom din w/ relocation kit from dealer (wrong ****in' color!)
9. Sumitomo 235/45/17 HTR+ all-season tires
10. Volk Racing 17x8 CE28N wheels - gunmetal center w/ lip
11. HKS regular Hi-Power exhaust (replaced crappy JIC exhaust)

I'm also thinkin' about getting Racing Hart CP08 in 18s and getting BFG rubber for like racing and the summer, but it's only a thought in my head. We'll see if I can make it reality. I'm also considering the C-West front and hood. I'm also thinkin' about a carbon fiber trunk and the EVO 7 JDM wing. What y'all think? Good? Bad? Stupid? Need help brainstorming here...

Wow Mike, I remember when all you had was a new clutch, and that JIC exhaust that liked to fall off.

I like the EVO VIII spoiler better (unless your installing it so you can adjust the downforce). Plus I see alot of Lancers running around w/ the VII spoiler on.

Hahaha! Yeh, that JIC exhaust was a waste of money. I'm happy with my HKS exhaust though. Much quieter and it hasn't fallen off! But I think I'm going to replace it with the stainless steel version because I've heard rumors about the regular's coating peeling off after a while. Or maybe I should get the carbon fiber version? Man, too many options!

I think you're right though. I think I'll stick with the VIII's wing. I just saw a white lancer with the VII wing on the road today. It didn't look right.

Oh, if all else goes as planned, I might be doing some dyno tuning on my car probably within 2 weeks. I'm going to put the AFR to good use! Hopefully, the shop will be able to extract some extra hidden horsepower! What HP numbers do you guys think are reachable with my mods plus tuning at 20 psi?

Anyway, I'm going to borrow my cousin's camera and take some quick snaps of the new stuff while the car's still clean.

Does anyone know of a good HAND WASH PLACE? The car's in need of cleaning!

If you're in the city there's a good hand wash at 2042 South Halsted. It's called We Wash Car Wash. $6.95 M-Th before 10:30am and $8.95 all other times. Interior, exterior, wheels done by hand and an air hose to blow water out the mirrors.
