So I started my car today and sure enough I hear a clunking noise. So I think something is loose, check the car with a crow bar and sure enough the clunking noise is coming from the tranny. I ****ING hate this car. I mean I dont even have any mods on it. This tranny sucks.

 

Has anything actually failed? Other than the noise, do you have any other issues?

The SST transmission makes all kinds of noises.

 

dude thats normal, pressure building on the clutchs , making sure its in the right gears to start rolling ,

on a nother note if you would have my problems you would hung your self a long time ago lol....
sst is a good trans , but mitsu is just not helping us out with getting parts out

 

People are just freaking amazing these days. His transmission is shot not because it doesn't work (it does work), but because its making noises. LOL!!

From a dead stop (especially at start up) the SST makes all kinds of clunking sounds, all of which are completely normal. Thats what happens when something is ran electronically, with dozens of moving parts!

The evo x was great i just didnt like the tranny

 

Why didn't you buy a GSR then???

 

bc i had a spinal cord injury and i didnt think i would be able to shift, i fell of a cliff in afghanistan, but I found out that even with the foot paralysis i can do it! I know it is not as good as it could be but hey maybe it will recover one day.

hahaha that noise is NORMAL man. scared the **** out of me the first few times i heard it untill i did some research and was finally able to breathe.
