If a stock-SST-map car in NORMAL AUTO is doing horrible clunky downshifts at low speed, it's not typical. And I don't reckon it's something that can really be "fixed" by editing ECU SST-related tables.

It's far from horrible. It's just that I would want the normal mode to downshift from 2nd to 1st at 1000rpm instead of 1300rpm and I was wondering if you knew which table to edit for that (if there is a simple fix)

No, sorry, no idea. Not on the ECU side.

Perhaps if we'd cracked the SST TCU itself, we could be editing shift points.

I had to teach my GF to drive her '12 MR in manual mode to keep the trans in first gear in parking lots. I know exactly what your talking about. The car kind of hunts between 1 and 2 when going 5-15mph in parking lots and its super annoying because the down shift to first going that slow isn't exactly buttery smooth. Just tell her the pull the shifter the left into the manual mode slot, and when she pulls out of the lot, hit it back over to the right. It's not hard at all...lol. I just had to convince my GF that cruising through te paring lot at 3500rpm in first was not going to hurt anything.

You are sooo on the spot mate, I'm in the exact same situation. I can avoid that issue but my girlfriend cannot. She doesn't know anything except P, R and D, and doesn't seem to be willing to learn more about cars hahaha. This will be hard to teach her anything else than this, but i feel I will have to try harder if she wants to continue to drive it haha

My Evo X 2009 SST gearbox doesn't shift smoothly always rough and can feel the car a bit jerking when it shifts. Is it normal?

Amsoil SST fluid fixed the smoothness issues for me (OEM oil had 11k miles of lazy driving)
