weird noise
weird noise
I know the tc-sst make a lot of whining noise, but I was wondering, every time I let go of the gas in 4 gear I hear this spinning/whining noise, I can actually hear it start spinning and making this very high pitch whine and it continue till I fully stop the car or if I push the gas pedal a bit
thx
thx
I posted a while ago on this with first and second gear but got no hits.
Basically I don't hear the sound unless I'm in s-sport mode and slack or lift throttle in first gear or second. Almost sounds like someone whistling through a quizoo. As soon as take it Down to sport or normal mode it stops.
Try that and see if you get the same sound. In s-sport around neighborhood I get this sound. You don't have to be racing or revving the crap out the car to hear this sound. Maybe 3k rpm.

I dont have s-sport, but it happens either on sport or normal, manual or auto and its only on the fourth gear but i can hear the whistelin.....like its start at 4 but it continue through all the gear if i downshiftj
S-sport is acquired by selecting sport. Then push and hold mode button again for 2 seconds while not moving.
I would love to hear from someone else about this. I know this noise you are describing and if im correct it's not coming from the transmission but from the turbo. The whine seems to be proportional with the turbo spooling down (off the throttle). My only theory at this point is that perhaps In Super Sport mode, the computer is making the turbo have different spool characteristics, perhaps it keeps the boost up when your off the gas to get back into boost quicker after braking/cornering. (which makes sense because SS is for the "track only"). But like I said, only a theory and would love some more input on this.
